Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 'Experience 300', the Shameful "Rock" Team

A smell of something burnt permeated the air.

The two ogres, who had seemed incredibly dangerous and had pushed the 'Rock' team to the brink, were so easily defeated by a single 'Lightning Strike'.

The atmosphere became somewhat quiet!

Even Dossal, the captain, whose ankle had been crushed and was howling in pain, had fallen silent.

'Discovered Third-Tier Magic "Lightning Strike", requires Basic Mage profession, Level requirement "15-21", current conditions not met...'

Information on the attribute panel appeared before Nolan.

The Basic Mage profession could be converted through "Genius", but he clearly didn't meet the level requirement yet.

"What a pity,"

Nolan muttered to himself.

Then, noticing the quiet atmosphere, Nolan could guess the complex emotions currently felt by the 'Rock' team.

The ogres they had tried their best to defeat were actually easily dealt with by their client.

It was hard for them not to feel complicated about this.

What's more!

Being able to use Third-Tier Magic meant one was a "Platinum-ranked" or even "Mithril-ranked" Adventurer.

The 'Rock' team found it difficult to even reach "Gold-ranked", let alone these higher-ranked Adventurers!

After a brief silence.

Nolan was the first to break the atmosphere, quickly moving towards Captain Dossal.

Looking at Captain Dossal, who was lying on the ground, his expression somewhat contorted from the intense pain.

Nolan squatted down and saw that the ogre's remaining hand was still tightly gripping his ankle: "Captain Dossal, I'll help you remove the ogre's hand."

Captain Dossal subconsciously nodded, then his face flushed slightly.

He didn't know if it was due to the pain caused by Nolan forcibly prying open the ogre's hand from his leg, or for some other reason.

The ogre's rough, dark yellow hand was pried off by Nolan and casually tossed aside, his gaze falling on Captain Dossal's lower leg.

The entire lower leg was completely crushed, hanging on the ground in a twisted shape. The bones inside, needless to say, were severely fractured.

Injuries of this extent would basically lead to disability in his previous life!

But in this world, although somewhat serious, it wasn't a big deal, as even resurrection magic existed.

"Lesser Healing!"

Nolan extended his hands towards the lower leg and spoke softly.

A soft white light enveloped Captain Dossal's lower leg. Under the effect of the healing magic, the previously flattened lower leg slowly inflated as if being blown up, and its twisted shape gradually mended.

The lower leg, which had just lost all sensation, began to regain a feeling of intense pain, causing Captain Dossal to gasp, but he still held back from crying out.

As the light dissipated!

The lower leg, which had been unrecognizable, now vaguely resembled its original shape.

Seeing this.

Nolan cast "Lesser Healing" again.

By the time the second healing magic ended, Captain Dossal's entire lower leg appeared to have returned to its original state.

"On the surface, it's fine, but the bones inside are severely fractured."

"Two spells can only offer a simple repair; it will probably take a few more times for a complete recovery. I'll heal you again once I recover some magic power."

Nolan exhaled and spoke softly.

Along the way, the 'Rock' team had been very kind to him, so Nolan naturally wouldn't be stingy if he could help them.

Captain Dossal's face was covered in sweat, and his lips were somewhat pale, clearly indicating that the pain during the leg's recovery was a bit too intense. "Thank you, Tang."

"No need to be so polite, Captain Dossal," Nolan said.

At this moment.

Bask, the archer, supporting the injured brothers Rand and Luer, also arrived. Seeing the captain's current condition, he breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Nolan with gratitude in his eyes.

"Are you two alright?"

Nolan stood up and looked at the two brothers being supported.

"Don't worry, we won't die." Luer grinned. Aside from his equally pale face, he didn't have any obvious external injuries.

However, since he was being supported by Bask the archer, even if there were no external injuries, he probably had some internal ones. Nolan remembered that he should have been kicked away by the other ogre.

"A few ribs are broken," Rand said, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth, "but I won't die either."

"When my magic power recovers, I'll heal you guys," Nolan nodded.

Rand laughed heartily and said, "Good."

"Oh?" Bask, the archer, twitched his ear, then abruptly turned his head to look at the ogre lying on the ground, its arm broken by the lightning. "It's not completely dead yet?"

At these words.

The faces of the 'Rock' team members turned cold.

Nolan's eyes, however, lit up. Without waiting for the 'Rock' team to react, he had already walked to the ogre lying on the ground.

The short sword swung!

Following the wound left by the arrow in the ogre's eye, he plunged it into its brain and twisted it forcefully.

The ogre, which had only been clinging to its last breath, completely ceased to live.

The swift and decisive action surprised the members of the 'Rock' team.

Perhaps even Nolan himself hadn't noticed that his actions now, unconsciously, held a touch of ruthlessness!

'Gained 300 experience!'

Nolan saw the information flash across his attribute panel, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

So much experience!

It directly raised Nolan's level by one. Combined with the scattered experience he had gained before, his current level had reached 5.

"Are you alright?!" Enfilea jumped down from the carriage, running over quickly, his face full of worry.

The 'Rock' team subconsciously exchanged glances, their faces showing respect as they looked at Enfilea, who stood before them.

"Don't worry, we absolutely won't delay the rest of the journey," Captain Dossal said quickly, propping himself up with his hands and standing on one leg.

"I didn't mean that."

Enfilea's cheeks flushed upon hearing this, and he waved his arms in dismissal. Just as he was about to say more, he suddenly saw the 'Rock' team members looking behind him, their faces showing awe.

"You all should rest for a bit."

Grandma Ligi walked over, her hands behind her back, her expression unreadable.

"Yes, Madam."

Captain Dossal spoke with a solemn expression, though his one-legged stance looked somewhat comical.

A magic caster capable of using Third-Tier Magic was not someone a small team like theirs could afford to offend, not to mention that she had just saved their lives.

The other three members of the 'Rock' team lowered their heads, their faces somewhat red. As Adventurers, being saved by their client was truly a bit embarrassing.

But no matter how they thought about it.

They couldn't understand why someone with such strong abilities would hire an Adventurer team for escort. No, perhaps from the beginning, she only intended to hire laborers.

Grandma Ligi ignored the 'Rock' team, her gaze directed towards the area where the goblins and ogres had appeared.

That location was part of the Tob Forest, south of the Angelicia Mountains. Its area was not only vast but also extremely dangerous. E-Rantel was right on the edge of this forest.

"It seems it's time to clear out the monsters again," Grandma Ligi muttered to herself.

Goblins were monsters that reproduced very quickly. Coupled with the wild beasts and other monsters in the forest, they almost annually attacked humans.

Therefore, the Adventurer's Guild in E-Rantel constantly had quests for clearing out monsters.
