Irina's POV
After we'd driven a few miles down the winding road, I glanced over at Bryan and couldn't help but smirk.
"Not bad acting, Dr. Crawford," I said with a teasing edge.
Bryan gulped hard, his smile strained and uncomfortable.
Then something seemed to click in his mind, and he asked quietly, "The poison... when does it...?"
He was talking about the same toxin that had taken down Lauren and Mack.
"You've got ten minutes before it hits," I replied, keeping one hand steady on the wheel while my smile disappeared. The car picked up speed as we wound down the mountain. "I'll give you the antidote once we reach the station."
"Take a right at the next turn, then straight ahead," Bryan said quickly.
He despised me, sure, but he wasn't stupid enough to bet his life on it. After witnessing what that poison did to Lauren and Mack, he knew exactly how brutal it could be.
