Chapter 2 - "Glum greetings"

the door to his study clicked as then entered, Ali Demir, his father's advisor, now his. The silver-haired man walked to him, hands clutching at piles of documents. The man then conversed to him on the future and that to attain his will, he must marry. Nur's face turned pale, marriage--A chapter that he had closed long ago. Ali continued,"the bride had also been selected" His jaw flexed as he stared back at the ceiling, "Did you...? Ali shook his head, "I wouldn't dare... if it wasn't the very own wish of your late mother" Nur sighed, a part of him was uninterested and the other part? merely curious to who it was? Ali continued, the bride is from one of the Kaplan family branches. "Who...is it? Nur's voice came out, flustered. Ali's mouth parted,

"Ayse Azra Yildiz" Nur's eyes widened, his chest tightened.

No...no, no, no! Nur fought internally, Ayse... no... it could not be her, not possible. Though, now staring back at Ali, all he wanted was for the earth to swallow him...whole.

he stood up making Ali step back, bewildered. This was Nur, the perfect child of the Hakan estate, the child who he taught. He had never gone against commands, never.

Yet now...

he ran a hand through his disheveled hair over and over. "Cannot be"... the face of her flashed through him. Ayse... he recalled them both in the past, the kind, nurturing girl who had a particular dislike on...him and him only. His eyes fell as her words rang,

" You are cruel"... her voice broke as tears glistened over her amber orbs, her lips quivered as she stared back at him in disgust. Nur had stood, lazily gazing at her, at how she shuddered under his cold gaze. Ayse...this is the real word... its dirty, wickedand you are little too naive don't you think? He then reached out for her--Just as he did, she slapped it away.

N-Naive...? her hand clenched at her sides, "if being against the starvation of children is naive then... she gazed up at him, head tilting, "Pray Nur because you will need it"

Pray... pray... she murmured, nodding her head, heels clicking against the marble floor as she then walked off. Nur watched her go; the strands of his hair were carried by the gentle breeze, he is Nur, the viscous man who would do a deal with the devil himself if it were to his advantages.

Nothing could shake him--Though now...? he shut his eyes, grazing at his jaw, how does this little fire crackle has this much effect on him?

Ah Ayse... a whisper left his lips as Ali's watchful eyes studied him. Nur gazed at the enormous window of the penthouse. How the Istanbul night glimmered with its dazzling night life.

Ali had left the study as Nur now stood by the balcony. The edge of his crisp white shirt fluttered against the air as his husky eyes darted.

Ayse... He could never truly have her...

Not in this lifetime he cannot...
