Chapter 15 - Fervently I held you...

The gentle breeze washed over the rustic cabinet in the wilderness of Cappadocia. As the loosely hung curtains fluttered fiercely. the folds moved alike satin as inside the dimly lit room sat Nur. His arms clutched at Ayse, as she pressed herself against him in a hearty embrace. Her nimble arms snaked over his back as the soft, breathy whispers of his, fanned over her like kisses.

They both read.

Pov, Nur: My fingers grazed against the fragile leather binding of the novel. as I swept my eyes through the yellow-tinted passages. Ayse watched meticulously, her eyes syncing with mine. The iambic words flowed elegantly.

The story line was particularly about a certain mister Flavious from the land of Trojantium --Who had been a soldier who then fell head over boots for a nurse. The love interest, Cecelia was a gracious woman; on a fateful day, Flavious was bought to the special care unit as he was injured. The attending nurse had been Cecelia. her delicate hands worked its way around his wound. Flavious had watched her closely yet took his gaze away as to not make her uncomfortable. The two had met up in the hospital and became great acquaintance. Flavious had adored her so much so that he had given her the nickname, Auroura (Dawn) symbolizing new beginning. to that, Cecelia's lips curled. Anyone could tell the undeniable chemistry between the two. Later he purses her by asking for her hand in marriage. Though with the refusal of Cecelia's father, the marriage was impossible. Cecelia had gazed at him with those sapphire orbs, tears glistened as it then sprung free, dropping to the damp earth as she watched him leave.

A heartbroken Flavious departed to war. As however in damsel he seems to be in--Duty calls, which he could never abandon. At the battlefield he fought as if no more, hand clutching around a locket that she had made for him. The enemies? he teared them with his daggers of no mercy. The general of the trojan army, Valens Fortis had quoted: "Soldier, Flavious had been the particular one to talk about at the tables, the man's eyes were empty yet full of fire, his hands shook with every move of his eyes, he fought as if life was nothing but unfair"

Flavious had written hundreds if not thousands of letters to her. All describing his love for her, how she had stolen his heart as she had been the only one to do so.

My eyes then widened,

"So, I now wander...heartless...soulless, like a predator, I rip out the heads of the bastards, my rage...? fueled by the hollowness and the utter misery" "Oh, my love...my pure sweet love... I drag my corpse like body, etching your name with twigs on the face of earth. I dream of you as mine...to hold you in my arms, to take your pain away"...

if only I was able to...

My breath staggered at the sheer pain in Flavious's voice as I then turned the page. My eyes then darted to the wall before me as I then clutched at Ayse. She glanced at me, tears swelled up in her eyes,

oh...Nur, a murmur left her lips as she gazed. "Could such a love exist?" my lips carved into a curl as I then placed the book on a desk, pressing her fervently against my chest, "Very possible" a murmur.

Then...why must all of them end in tragedies? she pouted.

"Why do you think so, ours didn't?"

she shot me a look as our eyes locked, her frown vanished away in that instant as she tightly embraced me.

"Well then, I'm very fortunate for my dear husband" she let out a soft giggle against me. a soft chuckle rumbled out my chest as I then pressed my lips on her forehead.

"And... I too thank God for you, my dear Ayse"
