Jay's POV:
I entered my room and my roommates started bombarding me with questions
SARA: Where were you Jay?
Mica: yeah , you left without informing us
J: Sorry guys, both of you were busy with your boyfriends and where nowhere to be found, I thought of messaging but eventually I forgot .
M: what BF? I don't have one
J: Then what about Calix
M: he is just my friend
S: "she is just in denial, she will accept soon, don't worry" she said with a smirk
Me and Sara laughed at each other
S: Okay, Now tell me where were you?
I stuttered a little and said "I went to dinner"
S&M: with?
I know if I say his name out loud they are going to make fun of so I muttered slowly "Kiefer"
S&M: What did you say?
J:"Kiefer"
S: So you went on a date
I immediately shook my head and said "NO, he just asked me to celebrate the basketball win"
S:"So you went with his teammates"
J:"No, It was just the two of us"
S:"So it was a date"
J:"Nooo"
s:"Okay, We have denial number 2 here"
They started teasing me, I quickly went to the washroom to freshen up.
After all the chaos, I finally settled in my bed started thinking how his voice calmed me during my panic attack and how his hug felt like warmth and peace and something more which I couldn't put into words exactly but his hug made me feel safe and protected, I smiled at the thought of someone making me feel safe, which I have never felt in my life and slowly drifted to sleep.
Kiefer's POV:
After that, I came to my room and freshened up and sat in my bed and was replaying all of today, morning how anxious I was when she was late and how I instantly turned happy when she came and the ice cream talk and how she slowly started to open up to me and how angry I was at her parents for making her go through all that, but I made me realise one thing all that she craves for is peace and warmth and I am going to make sure she gets it when she is with me.
With that thought I went to bed, but the memory of me hugging her came to mind making me blush, While hugging her I did feel one thing is that I wanted to keep holding her like that forever and that's when I realized that maybe I am slowly falling for or maybe I have already fallen for her.
Jay's POV:
The day started as usual and it went as a blur and we were assigned projects to work, So I said to Sara and Mica for not to wait for me because I will be at the library and I went started searching for a particular book and finally found it at the last corner of the library and slowly started my research and I don't know when I drifted to sleep and when I woke up the place was fully dark, every lights were switched off, I got scared and started shouting for help that's when I heard a familiar voice
" Jay, I am here" Kiefer said as he stood in front of me , tears started to fall in my eyes and I quickly ran and hugged him
.J: " Kief, what happened? Are we stuck here?" I asked in between my sobs
He answered me without pulling away and wiping my tears, " I called you after class but you did not pick up, so I asked your roomate, they said you were in the library, so I came here to see but I was not able to find you and was about to leave thinking maybe you already left and that's when I noticed the corner I did not check and that's where I saw you sleeping peacefully and I did not want to disturb so I just sat there and I did not know when I drifted to sleep but when I woke up a few minutes before everything was dark, at first I thought it was maybe the power shut but I wanted to check whether the door is open that is when I realised it was locked and we were locked inside and I tried to call someone for help but the signal is weak here, that is when you shouted"
I did not reply, I just went back to hugging him because it felt safe.
K: " Jay, I am sorry, I shouldn't have slept"
J: " I am just happy that you are here and I am not alone, you don't need to say sorry, it is not your fault"
That's when my stomach started rumbling and that's when I realised I was still hugging him and I pulled away
K: " Jay are you hungry?"I just nodded with a sad face
K : " One minute" He came back with 2 milkshakes in his hand
J: " where did you get this?" I asked him
K: " when I came to see you I brought this but you were asleep but now it came in handy"
J : " Wow, you are a life safer" I said with a huge smileK : " Anytime for my lucky charm" He said which made me blush.
