Kiefer's POV
I was really happy today, because my team won the try outs and Jay said yes to dinner, as far as I have known her, she has almost never accepted such an invite in the first ask, I was shocked and happy at the same time. I went to my room and took a good bath and got ready in a hurry and I wore my perfect yet simple outfit, a white shirt and black pant.
After getting ready I went to the girl's dorm only to see her coming out looking so pretty in a orange top and white pant with almost no makeup, she looked so beautiful that I almost forget to breathe, she makes here way out and greets me and we go by walk since the restaurant is near our dorm.
J: " So, how are you feeling after the win"
K: " Happy that I won, delighted because you came"
J: " really?"
K: " well, all my friends were present but you were the one I invited to celebrate my win" I said with a smirk and smile
J:"Well, you said I am your lucky charm and lucky charm deserves a special treatment." She said looking into eyes with a smile. Something about that made my heart flutter. Then the food we ordered arrived and we started eating and she started,
J: " actually I wanted to say sorry for almost missing your game" she said with guilt in her face
K: " all that matters to me is that you came, and supported me and that is more than enough for me, I don't care you came late all I care about is that you came." He said with sincerity in his eyes.
J: " I glad that you feel this way because most time it feels like I owe people explanation even though I don't, you make it easy for people to talk to you, do you know that?"
K: " do you really feel that way ?" He asked sincerely
She nods with a smile in a face .
Then after dinner we go to the nearby dessert shop and got our ice creams and that's when she says, "Can we go to the park and eat " and I just nod and walk along sideways our hands brushing each others and neither of us want to acknowledge it but just feel it,
It is tempting for me to hold her hand but I restrict myself because I know she is not ready not yet.
Jay's POV:
The ice cream place was little crowed and noisy so I asked if we can go to the park nearby by this time the park will be mostly empty and I just wanted to be in a peaceful place with him, I don't know why but I just wanted to sit in a peaceful place with him beside me and while walking I glance his face and something about makes me want to never look away but I turn and we also reach the park and settle down.
We just sit there and eat in silence and that's when he ask, "Why are you silent?" and I smile at him and reply, "Because with you I can be silent and the silence is comfortable "
He looks a little confused so I continue, "I grew up in a place where there was silence only after huge fight and yelling and it often made me hate, so in order to avoid I close my room or listen to music just to avoid that, In my home noise and silence both screamed the same thing two unhappy people living together for name sake ." Tears brimmed in my eyes while speaking about it and I quickly hid it before he could notice it.
After that confession he turned quiet and we started walking towards the dorm and we reached there and that's when I asked him, "Why did you turn so quiet?"
K:"Jay, I am sorry I did not know that is how you grew up "
J:"Its okay I got used to it" I said with a sad chuckle
K:"No, its not okay, everyone deserves to grow in a happy and safe environment"
J:"But not every people get it" I say looking into his eyes
K:"I do not know about your parents but with me, you can always expect the noise that screams happiness and silence that brings comfort and peace" he said looking into my eye
and I noticed how sincere he was and it made me tear up a little and he noticed that and quickly pulled me into a hug, I was shocked at first and composed myself and hugged him back and that's when I realized just like his voice which brought me peace earlier , his hug was also comforting making me want to never pull away, but we did pull away after a few moments and I noticed he was nervous because he hugged me suddenly without asking and I erased that thought from his mind by smiling and muttering a 'Thank you' and I can see relief in his face .
After that we say our good night and reach to our dorms.
