The house was alive with the usual hum of chaos: Angelo was pacing near the window, phone pressed to his ear, probably closing some huge deal. Aries was sprawled across the sofa, pretending to read a magazine but definitely eavesdropping on everyone.
Mom was at the table, folding laundry and keeping an eye on the whole room like a queen surveying her kingdom. Tita Gemma hovered nearby, fussing over snacks and muttering advice no one had asked for.
I perched on the armchair with my tea, letting the sunlight warm my fingers while my mind wandered far from this domestic chaos.
Perfect. Everyone's here. No one knows. Except Percy.

I tilted my head, listening to Mom quietly tell Aries to finish his homework before he wasted another hour on his phone. Tita Gemma offered suggestions on snacks, and Angelo barked a few instructions over his call. The background of home chaos wrapped around me, comforting but also somehow energizing.
Meanwhile, Crownveil Corporation ( her company ) lived in my head. Every spreadsheet, every plan, every new expansion was secretly mine, under Percy's careful watch. No one here suspected that the girl sipping tea and pretending to watch the sunlight was secretly the mastermind of a tech-finance empire that had already surpassed Watsons.
They think I'm just Jay. The playful, chaotic schoolgirl. They have no idea. 😏
I took a slow sip, letting the warmth ground me as I imagined the empire's next moves: new tech partnerships, subtle market takeovers, expansions that would make even the richest corporations blink. Watsons? Cute. Crownveil would leave them in the dust, and everyone would wonder who was behind it.
Aries yawned dramatically on the sofa. "You're zoning out again, Jay. What's going on in that big brain of yours?"
I forced a small smile. "Nothing important."
Liar. Always lying to Horoscope.
He narrowed his eyes but let it slide. He didn't know. No one did.

Mom, Jeana, glanced at me from the dining table. "Jay, honey, you've been quiet all morning. Everything alright?"
"Yeah, Mom," I said smoothly, hiding the scheming mind behind a calm smile. "Just… thinking about schoolwork."

Angelo finally hung up his call and leaned against the doorframe, giving me a faint smirk that made me feel like he could see through anything. I returned it with a subtle curl of my lips. Not a word about Crownveil, not yet.
The calm chaos of home surrounded me, but beneath my quiet exterior, the thrill of power hummed. One day, they'd all know. One day, the girl they saw as just a student, Aries' annoying sister, and Mom's quiet daughter would stand in the spotlight — and her empire would finally be revealed.
For now, though, Percy kept the world at bay, and I kept my secret.
