Chapter 22 - Demon Slaying Points

"Stop looking. The pink-haired girl you're talking about is right behind us."

"She and I were swallowed by the spatial rift together."

Lin Chen looked at Urokodaki Sakonji, speaking somewhat helplessly.

However, he could roughly guess the reason behind this.

"Having power and influence sure is nice."

Secretary had fallen into the spatial rift in the evening.

The notification letter had spread throughout the Demon Slayer world by early the next morning.

From this, one could see that under the high-martial world's background, these great families could accomplish far more than Lin Chen had imagined.

To lock onto the Demon Slayer world so quickly—they really had something substantial.

Urokodaki Sakonji nodded.

At such close distance, his sense of smell could detect the emotional fluctuations emanating from Lin Chen.

No panic whatsoever.

This most likely wasn't a lie.

"What about him then?"

Urokodaki Sakonji looked toward Tanjuro beside him, asking with considerable interest.

He actually wasn't that interested in people from other worlds.

In fact, being somewhat stubborn, he was quite resistant to these outsiders.

But he was extremely interested in Tanjuro.

From this man's clothing, mannerisms, and behavior, he didn't seem to be from another world.

Nor was he a member of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Yet his strength was astonishing.

"Mr. Tanjuro is a genuine native."

"After we arrived in this world, we happened to encounter him."

Lin Chen shrugged.

"But I can't say much about his information."

"I can only tell you that he's quite important to your Demon Slayer Corps."

"When you meet your Corps' Master, he might explain everything."

"He can only speak after meeting Master?"

Urokodaki Sakonji looked somewhat suspicious, gazing at Tanjuro with vigilance.

The Master was the core of the Demon Slayer Corps, more important than even the Pillars.

Not just anyone could casually meet the Master, and unknown outsiders were even less likely to.

"You can write 'Sun Breathing' in your Kasugai Crow's message. This letter can only be seen by your Master."

"He'll know what to do."

Lin Chen spoke up.

He might be returning soon, so he was doing his best to pave the way for Tanjuro.

Letting Tanjuro be known and accepted by the Demon Slayer Corps' upper echelons as quickly as possible.

Whether it was starting systematic training for Tanjuro as soon as possible, or having Tanjuro teach the Transparent World to the Corps' Pillars quickly.

Either way, this was for the best.

"Sun Breathing?" Urokodaki Sakonji's face was filled with shock.

He had communicated extensively with the previous Flame Pillar and was one of the few who knew of Sun Breathing's existence.

No wonder that gentle man's strength was so formidable.

"I'll arrange for a Kasugai Crow to deliver the message immediately."

Involving Sun Breathing, Urokodaki Sakonji instantly realized the importance of this matter.

Searching for the little girl from another world—he didn't care about that.

But as long as it was beneficial to the Demon Slayer Corps, he would definitely take it seriously.

Tanjuro stood quietly to the side, listening to Lin Chen's exchange with this old man named Urokodaki Sakonji.

He actually didn't quite understand the full situation yet.

Although Lin Chen had told him some things about demons and the Demon Slayer Corps.

There was still much he didn't know.

For example, the specific structure within the Demon Slayer Corps, that so-called Master, and the identity of this old man named Urokodaki Sakonji before him.

He knew none of these things.

All he knew was that this old man used the same breathing technique as Lin Chen had used earlier.

And this old man's strength was considerably greater than Lin Chen's.

Very quickly, Secretary Fujiwara arrived with Kamado Kie and the others.

Seeing the pink-haired girl appear.

Urokodaki Sakonji finally completely dispelled the last trace of doubt in his heart.

The three men tacitly positioned themselves in front of the mangled corpse and the dismembered demon.

Blocking that rather bloody scene.

The women and children entered the temple first.

Immediately after, Urokodaki Sakonji drew the Nichirin blade in his hand toward the already mangled demon on the ground.

It was better to kill this demon quickly rather than wait until morning.

Seeing the Nichirin blade in his hand, Lin Chen's eyes lit up.

He hurriedly stepped forward.

"Could you let me finish off this demon, Mr. Sakonji?"

Lin Chen spoke, with some urgency.

"I want to use this to temper my own courage."

"You still need to temper your courage?"

Urokodaki Sakonji first looked at the demon pinned by wooden stakes, mangled and bloody.

Then looked at Lin Chen before him.

That somewhat stern face was full of bewilderment, his mouth twitching slightly.

He had personally watched this youth drive six thick wooden stakes through the demon in one go, reducing it to a bloody pulp.

Though this was indeed the only method ordinary people had against demons without a Nichirin blade.

But that ruthless decisiveness in his actions.

No matter how you looked at it, he wasn't someone who needed to temper his courage.

However, after slight hesitation.

Urokodaki Sakonji still handed over the Nichirin blade in his hand.

It didn't matter to him who killed the demon, as long as the demon was eliminated.

Lin Chen had brought the pink-haired girl and news about Sun Breathing.

No matter what, he couldn't refuse this small request.

The Nichirin blade in hand, Lin Chen felt somewhat excited.

The feeling of a real blade was completely different from a wooden sword.

Just gripping the blade gave him a sense of excitement.

But what should be even more exciting was the harvest to come.

Lin Chen swung the blade, cutting another section off the demon's already mangled neck on the ground.

It seemed like an unnecessary action.

In reality, the Nichirin blade's effect had already begun to take effect.

The demon that had been smashed into a bloody pulp by the wooden stakes and was still maintaining tenacious vitality.

After one slash, it completely stopped struggling.

From the incision, its body scattered like burning ash.

Soon it had completely disappeared without a trace.

Including the bloodstains that had splattered earlier—they were the same.

If not for the gnawed corpse on the ground, it would be as if the demon had never appeared.

Tanjuro watched this scene from the side, his eyes showing considerable amazement.

Although Lin Chen had already told him that a Nichirin blade severing a demon's neck would directly kill it.

But seeing this situation for the first time still surprised him greatly.

A demon that seemed impossible to kill no matter what—after being beheaded with one slash, it dispersed without leaving any trace.

Lin Chen's eyes carried excitement, the corners of his mouth curling up, his mood quite good.

The Martial Arts Panel before him appeared immediately after slaying the demon.

[Obtained 150 Demon Slaying Points]

Demon Slaying Points could, to a certain extent, represent the strength of the demon killed.

For an ordinary demon, 150 Demon Slaying Points wasn't low.

This demon had some real strength.

It just happened to encounter Tanjuro and was instantly killed.

One hundred points could conduct one lowest-tier lottery draw. Lin Chen didn't draw immediately, storing it for now.
