Chapter 94 - Failure

Karl looked around at the chaotic Extraordinary Gathering venue, observing the suppressed Kvedo, but he didn't immediately rush to help Kvedo.

That Solar High Priest had stacked so many buffs that even Kvedo, who had practiced swordsmanship for years, was forced to retreat step by step. If Karl rushed in recklessly, he knew he would surely die and also drag Kvedo down with him.

Karl didn't panic; he simply looked around, examining his surroundings more carefully. For a moment, time in Karl's mind seemed to slow down.

Karl slowly moved, calculating his steps to hide in the visual blind spots of several people relatively close to Kvedo's battlefield. Due to the limited number of people and the not-so-compact battle lines, Karl was able to slowly approach Kvedo's side without too much difficulty.

Kvedo was forced to flee in all directions by the Solar High Priest, but Kvedo still possessed strong combat skills, so the Solar High Priest didn't dare to be too presumptuous, only slowly gaining the upper hand.

"There's a table over there. If my calculations are correct, that Solar High Priest will be there soon, and Kvedo will also be forced into a corner with no good options. There's a ninety percent chance he'll fight head-on there. There's also a place to hide nearby. I need to get there ahead of time and avoid that person's sight."

Karl thought rapidly, constantly changing his path. Everything was as Karl had predicted; Kvedo and the Solar High Priest slowly approached the spot Karl had foreseen, and Karl also arrived there on time.

Kvedo's back hit the cold table, and he felt an obstruction when his foot retreated, but he didn't notice Karl, who intended to ambush him. After all, he was struggling just to evade, so he had no energy to see where Karl was.

"Hmph." Kvedo adjusted his breathing and assumed the best posture for exerting force during evasion.

The Solar High Priest, chasing Kvedo, was also anxious, as several of his Beyonder subordinates had either been killed or wounded by wild Beyonders. The opponent was, after all, a Beyonder, and if pushed too hard, still capable of fighting back. So, seeing Kvedo with nowhere left to retreat, the Solar High Priest cursed, "Ha, little brat, not running anymore? This is the end! Go to hell!"

As the Solar High Priest swung his broadsword at Kvedo, he first used absolute strength to parry Kvedo's blocking sword, then fiercely cleaved down at Kvedo.

However, Kvedo hadn't actually used much force. He quickly pulled out a large, mostly yellow triangular object with a blue gem-like inlay in the middle from his embrace and shouted, "gaia!"

As soon as these words were uttered, the world instantly changed color... No, it was the world in the Solar High Priest's eyes that underwent a massive change. A dull yellow light appeared before him. This dull yellow light did not scatter but shot directly into the Solar High Priest's head.

How could there be such a strange colored ray...? The Solar High Priest's thought was one of surprise at the color of this light. At the same time, the Solar High Priest felt a sharp pain in his back. The Solar High Priest's last thought was, damn it, I'm already dead, which bastard still stabbed me? Let me see...

The Solar High Priest tried his best to glance backward, but before he could turn his head, the Solar High Priest stopped moving. He was dead.

The person who ambushed the Solar High Priest was precisely Karl, but at this moment, Karl's expression was still a bit astonished. After all, no matter how clever he was, he hadn't expected Kvedo to turn a certain death situation into one where the opponent was directly killed in the blink of an eye, so much so that he instinctively rushed forward and delivered an extra stab. However, it seemed that the light ray was far more potent than this small sneak attack.

Although Karl was surprised, Kvedo didn't stop. He quickly ran to Karl's side, holding that 'gaia Transformation Device', and said to Karl, "Karl, this is an extraordinary materials Mr. Rosell gave me. Its purpose is for me to take you and Erich away. You can't stay here anymore; you have to go to Lenburg. This is a collaboration between those in the military who favor the Sauron Family, the Sauron Family, and the Eternal Blazing Sun. I'll cover you, quickly!"

Although Kvedo's words were earth-shattering, as several of Intis's largest factions were trying to capture them, Karl, surprisingly, wasn't flustered when it came down to it. He simply accompanied Kvedo in searching for Erich's figure, asking at the same time, "I'm not surprised that the military factions close to the Soren Family and the Soren Family are acting, but why is the Eternal Blazing Sun involved? Haven't the Eternal Blazing Sun and the Steam Church always refrained from political struggles?"

Erich's figure wasn't hard to find, as his flamboyant red hair emanated visible, dangerously fiery aura. Unless one was very foolish, they wouldn't go there to seek trouble. What Karl and Kvedo had to do was traverse the perilous Beyonder battlefield.

And Kvedo also knew that Beyonders of the Savant and Reader Pathways had a tendency to question everything, so he took advantage of the current non-heated phase to answer, "Heh heh, originally that was true, but although Erich isn't a spy in the true sense, he is also the person the Knowledge Church sought to cooperate with Mr. Rosell, so it's not wrong to consider him a spy. And the Knowledge Church has indeed planted a few 'nails' in Intis, but they didn't expect the 'nail' to become troublesome; he was betrayed to the Soren Family. And the Soren Family took advantage of the situation to bring in the Eternal Blazing Sun, after all, if the Knowledge Church were to join Intis, heh heh, that would be truly big trouble."

Although Kvedo's explanation was a bit long, Karl was still able to understand the main content, so Karl hummed in understanding and then continued, "Then how did Mr. Rosell know?"

"Mr. Rosell's CIA is not to be trifled with. Mr. Rosell received information not long after they started planning. And Mr. Rosell also entrusted the Steam Church to help us cover up, but the Steam Church had another mission today. Someone sent a letter to the Steam Church, and that was the 'nail', the Iron and Blood Cross Order! That's why they chose this timing to come." Kvedo's face was chilling as he spoke.

Karl's face, however, showed even more confusion. Kvedo then explained, "Actually, the Soren Family is preparing for another clash with Mr. Rosell recently, and you have a vulnerable 'black spot' on you, and Erich's identity has also been exposed. So, Mr. Rosell decided to let you two go first, and then confront the Soren Family head-on."
