Fulen was certain that something big would happen to him today, whether it was the letter left by that arrogant Reaper a few months ago, or the figure resembling Kvedo he saw at the Extraordinary Gathering, Mr. Laze's comfort to him, or the extraordinary materials Wilson gave him today, Fulen knew that after today, his life would indeed undergo earth-shattering changes.
Preparation ensures success, lack of preparation leads to failure. As the Circus's newly promoted Magician, Fulen had quite a bit of experience in preparing everything.
Around four in the afternoon, Fulen set off, as the Extraordinary Gathering, which he knew would be extremely dangerous for him, was about to begin at five. However, Fulen couldn't escape; the Iron and Blood Cross Order must have already set up an inescapable net. Going now was a near-certain death, but not going was a definite death.
It was still that dilapidated wooden door, which Fulen pushed open with a grim expression. The tavern was as noisy as ever today. Looking at the bustling tavern, Fulen momentarily felt as if he were just attending an ordinary Extraordinary Gathering.
"Damn it, doesn't the Iron and Blood Cross Order know to disperse the people who are just drinking?" Fulen looked at the drunkards around him, still bragging and chatting, and felt a moment of sympathy. After all, in a battle between Beyonders, ordinary people risked death just by being nearby, and it seemed very likely that a fight could break out suddenly.
Fulen didn't want to go to the bar because the boss named Sam truly had the demeanor of a Provoker. In today's situation, Fulen didn't want his mentality to explode from being provoked before the fight even started, especially since Fulen was here today entirely due to the opposing faction's orders.
The secluded corner was still familiar. Fulen skillfully placed his identity Card into the slot and, without incident, entered the underground area. Once there, Fulen changed his attire; no matter what, he still needed to conceal his identity.
However, when Fulen went to retrieve the iron Card, he saw that Reaper, whose mocking skills were at full display, playing with his Iron and Blood Cross Order Card in his hand, while casually looking at him.
Fulen instinctively clenched his fist and forced a smile, "Heh."
"I'm here to see today's protagonist, after all, how can a magnificent drama be without a protagonist?" This time, the Reaper didn't provoke him, but after saying just one sentence, he threw the Card to Fulen, "I'm looking forward to it."
The inexplicable actions and words made Fulen feel a bit strange for a moment. After thinking for a while, he stopped dwelling on it; since he was here, he would make the best of it.
Before the gathering began, Fulen also arrived in the gathering room. Everything today seemed quite ordinary. Fulen looked at the large blackboard in front and the empty sofa before it, simply staring, unsure what he was thinking.
When there was still one minute left, the Door opened, and two shapely ladies pushed it open and entered. However, Fulen didn't feel the unearthly allure of a Demoness, but he still directed some of his attention towards them. In fact, Fulen gave some attention to everyone, with even more attention to women.
The gathering began very normally: auctions, bidding, transactions, and everything else was as bland as plain water.
And just as an extraordinary material was being traded, a huge roar and vibration suddenly erupted from above the room. A galaxy composed of black and white broke through the roof of the room from above, accompanied by colorful lights.
However, this torrent, composed of various colored things, had no more strength after breaking through the roof. Fulen only saw a fleeting, dazzling galaxy and various colorful lights.
Although the seemingly dangerous light was gone, it didn't mean that the people attending the Extraordinary Gathering were safe. In fact, the broken roof was, in a sense, even more dangerous, with scattered stones raining down on everyone's heads.
The potions taken by the people attending this Extraordinary Gathering were not the same; some were Warriors, some were Hunters, some were Assassins, but there were also Monsters, Readers, Savants, etc. So, when the indiscriminate stones fell, some people easily dodged them, while others were hit by stones, some losing body parts, and even their lives.
For Fulen, dodging these stones was a simple matter, but a bigger question arose in Fulen's mind: "Why is it the Steam Church attacking, and not the Demoness Sect?"
Actually, Fulen had always thought this should be the Iron and Blood Cross Order's attack on the Demoness Sect, as in the family rumors Fulen had read, Trier had always only had the Iron and Blood Cross Order, the Secret Order, and various other weaker Beyonder organizations, while the Demoness Sect had never taken root in Trier.
Fulen also had his own understanding of this. After all, if the Beyonder Pathways controlled by each country's rulers were considered national characteristics, Loen had the Justiciar, Night, Tyrant, and Paragon Pathways; Intis had the Red Priest, Paragon, and Sun Pathways; Faynapotter had the Justiciar and Mother Pathways; Feysac had the Red Priest and Twilight Giant Pathways; and smaller countries like Lenburg had the White Tower Pathway. The Demoness Pathway had always had strongholds in Intis and Feysac, but not powerful secret organization strongholds like the Iron and Blood Cross Order and the Secret Order.
Fulen even speculated that the Demoness Sect in Trier didn't even have a demigod. Among the exchangeable Pathways, stronger Beyonders had terrifying dominance over lower Pathway Beyonders. Unless the Demoness Sect was determined to station an Angel in Trier, if a Sauron Family Angel happened to find and kill a Demoness Sect demigod during a Beyonder characteristic gathering, the Demoness Sect would probably cry themselves to death.
However, times have changed. The Sauron Family can no longer even protect its royal status, so it has no ability to stop Demoness Sect Beyonders from entering Trier. In fact, the Sauron Family probably even wants the Demoness Sect to come in quickly and stir up trouble.
Fulen speculated that the Iron and Blood Cross Order was also of the Red Priest Pathway. So, from a Pathway perspective, the already strong Iron and Blood Cross Order definitely didn't want the Demoness Sect to enter Trier, which is why they used Fulen as bait to draw out a strong expert from the Demoness Sect.
However, looking at the scene with obvious starlight characteristics and a lavish light attack, it was clearly an attack launched by the Steam Church. Fulen dodged the flying debris, and for a moment, he was at a loss, only able to temporarily avoid it and conceal himself in the shadows.
