Cherreads

Chapter 29 - [29] Kitchen Delights and Quirrell's Stumbling Surprise!

In the kitchen.

Several busy house-elves gathered around the three of them.

There was nothing to be surprised about; they were already used to it.

"Respected wizard, what would you like to eat?"

"Two servings of pumpkin juice, and two servings of roasted potatoes with steak, that would be fine."

The Weasley twins said in unison.

"I'd like a glass of lemonade, some fried sausage, and a bacon and egg, please."

"Thank you? Sophie, did you hear that! The esteemed little wizard actually thanked Leah!" Leah was incredibly excited, grabbing a nearby elf and asking incessantly.

The house-elf named Sophie's eyes revealed an irrepressible envy.

"Alright, Leah, don't keep our esteemed guest waiting!"

"You're right! Leah kept our distinguished guest waiting! Leah is a bad elf! A wicked fellow!"

As if provoked by something, Leah picked up her head and banged it against the wall.

Argus was stunned for a moment, not reacting immediately.

While she was distracted, Leah had already brought over the food that Argus and the other two had requested.

The difference was that the Weasley twins' food was simply prepared according to their requests and then casually placed on a plate.

The sausages and bacon that Argus wanted to eat were presented in an elegant manner.

A thick sauce covered the bacon, and the lemonade glass even had a small, pure white flower on it.

"Dear guest, this is a sauce that Leah has prepared especially for you!"

"Please have a taste!"

Leah's eyes were filled with anticipation.

The Weasley twins looked at Argus's exquisite meal, then at their own, a lump of food that looked like pig slop.

They were so jealous!

"This is such a double standard! Why didn't we receive this kind of treatment the first time we came here!"

"No, Argus, we demand a food exchange!"

Leah looked at Argus in a panic, her lips pursed, and she opened her mouth as if to stop something.

But she dared not speak.

Argus smiled and patted her head reassuringly.

He cut a piece of bacon with a knife and dipped it in the sauce.

"It's delicious! Thank you for the treat, Leah!"

"You flatter me, esteemed guest!"

Leah was very happy and kept showing off to the other elves.

Not to be outdone, a bunch of house-elves in the kitchen pulled out all the stops and showed off their best cooking skills.

Delicious dishes were served to Argus as if they were free.

They longed for Argus's praise.

For the first time, Argus felt that too much delicious food could also be a form of torture.

Argus ate until his belly was bulging, and the Weasley twins benefited a lot from Argus, eating many delicacies they had never tasted before.

The three left with lingering reluctance, waving goodbye to the little elves.

George couldn't help but sigh, "Looks like next time I sneak into the kitchen, I'll have to drag Argus along."

"Otherwise, I definitely wouldn't be able to eat this kind of delicious food!"

Fred nodded in agreement: "Yes, I'm afraid that after eating this meal today, I won't be able to eat anything else!"

"Don't worry, there will be other opportunities in the future."

Argus didn't think he would stay in the dorm every night from now on.

The restricted section of the library and the secret chambers of Hogwarts' founders were the places he wanted to explore.

If he had the chance to get the Marauder's Map from the Weasley twins, he would definitely take some time to check it out with the acolytes.

If he calculated it that way, he really didn't have much time to spend in the dormitory.

Since the common rooms of Gryffindor and Slytherin were not on the same road, the three of them parted ways after finishing their supper.

The Weasley twins intended to give Argus a ride, but Argus refused.

Following the path he had taken before, Argus stealthily made his way forward.

His memory was pretty good; even if he only went through the same route once, he could remember the way back clearly.

"Meow!"

Suddenly, a cat's meow broke the silence of the passageway.

Then came the hoarse voice of Filch, the Hogwarts caretaker.

"Mrs. Norris, has someone sneaked out again?"

"Smell carefully!"

What bad luck!

How had he even run into that?

He definitely needed to learn the Disillusionment Charm when he got back!

Argus cursed his bad luck, looked around, jumped onto the escalator, and plunged into a classroom not far away.

The classroom was pitch black, without a single ray of light, and Filch's footsteps grew closer and closer behind him.

Argus was afraid of being discovered and dared not use Lumos.

Holding onto the wall, he groped his way forward in the dark.

He didn't care much about the points deduction.

Only children would care about something like this, which was like playing house.

His reason for not wanting to be caught was that he was afraid Dumbledore would suspect him.

Ever since their conversation in the headmaster's office, he knew he had aroused Dumbledore's suspicion.

However, it would be a long time before Voldemort was resurrected.

He didn't want Dumbledore to focus his attention on him.

"There's another door?"

"Wait, why does this door look so familiar?"

Argus recalled the series of stone statues and spider webs he had touched along the way, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.

"Could it be such a coincidence?"

"How did I end up here with Fluffy?!"

Through the crack in the door, he could hear faint snoring coming from inside.

He immediately realized where he had ended up!

The first test Dumbledore set for Harry was the location of the Philosopher's Stone.

It was also the detention center for Fluffy, the three-headed dog!

He would never believe that Dumbledore hadn't planted any magic here!

Who knew, Dumbledore might find out the moment he opened the door.

"Let's take a gamble!"

Argus hid in a corner, picked up his wand, and pointed it at himself.

"Scourgify!"

A gentle magical touch swept over him, and the dust and smell on his body slowly dissipated.

Filch and Mrs. Norris's footsteps sounded outside the door.

"Has someone come in, darling?"

Filch, hunched over, lifted Mrs. Norris with an oil lamp in his hand.

He peeked inside and observed carefully for a while.

Seemingly thinking no one was inside, he muttered something under his breath, then turned and left with the cat in his arms.

"Luckily, he had used magic to remove the smell beforehand."

"Let's hurry back to the dorm. If we run into any professors, they won't be as easy to fool as Filch."

Argus waited a while, and only came out of the room after confirming that Filch had left.

But after walking a short distance, Argus discovered something unfortunate.

He was lost!

That was right!

The staircases at Hogwarts were interconnected, and after jumping down one staircase and turning a few corners, he found himself unable to find his way back.

"I should have had the Weasley twins send me back!"

"How long will it take to go around like this?!"

Argus deeply regretted his previous gentlemanly behavior.

He flicked his wand downward toward the floor below, hesitating whether to jump down directly.

A strong garlic smell hit his nose.

Immediately following was a stuttering voice.

"A...a new Slytherin student? You...what are you doing here?"
