Chapter 40 - [40] Play to Win or Stay Out of the Game!

The crooked, twisted curse was something Argus didn't even bother dodging.

"Mr. Weasley, you did a great job, launching a sneak attack before the duel even began."

"No wonder my brothers had to clean up my mess when I made a mistake!"

"Shut up! You disgusting Dark Arts wizard!"

Ron, like a mouse whose tail had been stepped on, picked up his wand and waved it repeatedly at Argus.

Unfortunately, he knew too few spells.

At home, they ate, drank, and had fun every day. At school, without Hermione to supervise them, they and Harry wished they could skip classes altogether.

It was always the same few spells, and sometimes they even stumbled over the incantations, nearly hitting themselves in the process.

"Levicorpus!"

Argus, too lazy to continue this childish game, simply left Ron hanging in mid-air.

Seeing Ron writhing like a maggot, Harry, the Holy Mother, couldn't bear it again.

"Argus…"

"Harry, are you going to plead for Weasley?"

This time, Draco couldn't hold back any longer and directly questioned him.

"You don't know what he said to Argus back then, or what he said in the hall, do you?"

"When Ron attacked Argus just now, I didn't see you pleading for him!"

"In your heart, is Weasley the only friend? What are Argus and me?"

No wonder fans had shipped Harry and Draco for so many years!

Just looking at Draco's questioning, it really sounded like a young couple arguing and breaking up!

Ever since Harry had pleaded with Argus in the hospital room last time, regardless of the circumstances, Argus had been completely disappointed in this overly compassionate savior.

He remained unmoved by Harry's repeated pleas.

Harry struggled for a long time, but only managed to utter one sentence.

"You...you are all my friends."

"Ron…he just…"

"Shut up! You idiot!"

Driven by hate born from love, Draco pulled out his wand and pointed it at Harry.

"You made your choice when you accompanied Weasley to the trophy room!"

"Go ahead, Potter! Don't let me look down on you!"

Harry wanted to explain, but seeing Draco's expression above, he decided to let him calm down before apologizing another time.

"Rictusempra!"

"Tarantallegra!"

"Incarcerous!"

The education that pure-blood families provided for their heirs was far superior to that of Harry, who was only half-baked.

After being trained by Argus, Draco's strength far surpassed that of the original character.

Taking down Harry, who hadn't even cast a few spells, was practically a piece of cake!

"Fight back, you bastard!"

"You coward!"

After a few spells, Harry was forced to flee in a sorry state, unable to even fight back.

"Meow!"

Draco was venting his anger when a cat meowed from the doorway!

Harry was startled.

Draco panicked and hurriedly asked Argus.

"What to do!"

In the eyes of these young wizards, Filch and his cat were nothing short of demons!

Both the terrifying figure and the attitude toward the young wizards filled them with immense fear.

As soon as he finished speaking, Draco saw Mrs. Norris rush into the trophy room.

"Damn it, Filch is definitely waiting for us at the door."

"When we get back, Professor Snape will skin us alive!"

Draco was on the verge of tears, mentally prepared to be verbally abused by Snape for hours, and then put in solitary confinement.

Ron, however, became excited!

The ridicule from those around him and their jealousy of Argus, coupled with the fact that Argus had hung him up for so long today, made him feel even worse.

His mind had long been consumed by resentment!

He'd rather be arrested himself than let Argus get away with it!

He twisted his body and shouted desperately toward the door!

"There's someone here! Come quick!"

"Someone is sneaking out at night, come and catch them!"

This shout not only stunned Draco, but also left Harry, who was standing next to him, completely bewildered!

No, buddy!

Are you kidding me?

If you're not afraid of dying, don't drag me down with you!

I risked breaking up with my friends to come here with you, and this is what you do?

Sure enough, Filch, who was outside the door, heard the noise and rushed into the room.

The heavy footsteps sounded like muffled drumbeats, striking the hearts of everyone present.

Just when Draco was in despair, a jaw-dropping scene unfolded.

Mrs. Norris, whom everyone else avoided, was quietly nestled at Argus's feet!

Clutching his wizard's robe, she lightly leaped into his arms.

"Argus, this…"

"It's nothing. I've seen it a few times before and just fed it some food."

Argus's casual explanation only shocked the others more.

But what shocked them was far more than that.

Seeing Filch walk into the trophy room, Ron's face lit up with a vengeful satisfaction.

He hurriedly yelled at Filch.

"I'm reporting them! They're violating school rules by going out at night!"

"Catch them quickly!"

Unexpectedly, Filch did not capture Argus with a sinister grin as he had imagined.

What happened next nearly made his eyes pop out!

His perpetually gloomy face softened slightly the moment he saw Argus.

What he found even more unbelievable was that Filch actually took the initiative to greet Argus!

"Mr. Grindelwald, it's been a long time!"

"Long time no see, Mr. Filch! I'm so grateful for your nightly patrols!"

"This is my job!"

"No, if it weren't for your faithful duty every night, Hogwarts would have been in complete chaos long ago!"

Argus's words made Filch's smile widen.

Several thick folds were squeezed out.

"By the way, Mr. Filch!"

"Draco and I caught two young wizards sneaking out at night for you tonight, and they're tied up inside."

"Waiting for your processing!"

"Tied up!"

Upon hearing this, Filch's eyes lit up instantly!

His office always kept shackles and handcuffs on hand, just in case they came in handy someday.

Unfortunately, none of the professors and headmasters of Hogwarts ever supported him.

Seeing how well Argus understood him, his feelings of affection for him grew even stronger!

"Leave this to me! You and your friend go home first!"

"Little wizards who break school rules should be punished properly!"

Seeing that Filch ignored Argus and Ron and walked straight toward them, Harry and Ron were completely dumbfounded!

Why me?!

Why is there such a big difference between nighttime patrols?

This is an unspoken rule! It's a shady deal!

I refuse to accept this!

Ron yelled, "You're abusing your power!"

"Why are you only arresting us?!"

"A Muggle-born!"

Upon hearing this word, Filch's expression immediately changed.

But Ron was completely oblivious and continued rambling on.

Argus smiled slightly and ended the Levicorpus.

Bang!

Ron, who had been hanging there, was thrown heavily to the ground.

"Mr. Filch, I'll leave this to you. Draco and I will be leaving now."

The next day.

At the entrance of Hogwarts Castle, the hourglass belonging to Gryffindor had been reset to zero.

Harry and Ron were treated like rats in the street, despised by countless Gryffindor members.

Unwilling to accept this, Ron kept explaining to his classmates.

All he received in response were sarcastic remarks from his classmates.

Why did he only arrest you and not others?

Can we look for the reasons within ourselves?

If you're bad at the game, practice more; if you can't handle losing, don't play!

What Ron found even more unacceptable was that his parents found out.

Soon, they would arrive from the Burrow…
