Chapter 41 - [41] Molly's Fury and Dumbledore's Secret Deal

Inside the Hogwarts Headmaster's office.

Mrs. Molly and Arthur Weasley stared at Ron with serious expressions.

Ron huddled behind Harry like a frightened quail, not daring to look up.

As the protagonists of a series of events, Argus and Draco were also invited to the Headmaster's office.

"Ron! Are you ignoring what I said?!"

"I just sent you a letter, and you dare to do this!"

"I couldn't believe it when Professor McGonagall arrived!"

Mrs. Molly drew on her maternal authority to suppress Ron and unleashed a torrent of scolding.

Even Dumbledore, who was standing nearby, didn't dare to interrupt because of her fiery temper.

Her expression softened instantly when she saw Harry.

She pulled Harry into her arms.

"Oh, Harry, it's so good to see you, darling."

"Poor child! I've dragged you into this!"

"Don't worry, I'll give Ron a good warning!"

She turned and glared at Ron.

"Did you hear that! If there's a next time, your father and I will personally take you home without Professor McGonagall's intervention!"

On the other side, Arthur faced Argus and the other two, his attitude very sincere.

Even when facing Draco, who was at odds with the Weasley family, he was willing to pay the price for Ron's mistakes.

"Mr. Grindelwald, I apologize to you for what happened with Ron."

"And... Mr. Malfoy!"

"Mr. Weasley need not concern himself with the conflicts between children."

When in the spotlight, Argus always maintained a good demeanor.

He responded politely to Arthur's apology.

Arthur breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that he wasn't being aggressive.

"Mr. Grindelwald, your tolerance is admirable. You are welcome to visit my humble abode anytime."

Ten-year-old Ginny curiously looked at the blue-eyed boy in front of her.

The other party's gentle and refined demeanor left a deep impression on her.

"This is Ginny, my youngest daughter, who will be starting school next year."

Arthur proudly introduced them to Argus and the other man.

It was only then that Argus noticed Harry's future wife.

Despite her young age, she already exuded the charm of a future Hogwarts school beauty.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, you clever and beautiful little witch!"

Argus smiled gently at Ginny, his sunny and handsome appearance making Ginny blush unconsciously.

"Th...thank you."

"It's getting late, we can't keep Mr. Grindelwald from his class."

Arthur called out to Molly, interrupting her scolding of Ron.

"Behave yourself and don't cause me any more trouble!"

Still angry, Molly left with her last words before bidding farewell to everyone along with Arthur.

Just as Argus was about to leave with the others, Dumbledore, who had been silent until now, spoke up.

"Mr. Grindelwald, please wait a moment."

There are some things I'd like to talk to you about.

After a moment's thought, Argus smiled again.

"Of course, Headmaster."

After everyone had left, Dumbledore asked again.

"Mr. Grindelwald, what would you like?"

"How about a Cockroach Cluster?"

"No need, Headmaster. Please just tell me what's on your mind."

Argus didn't want to waste time with Dumbledore and decisively refused.

Dumbledore sighed, took out a Cockroach Cluster, soaked it in milk, and took a sip. A look of enjoyment appeared on his face.

"Mr. Grindelwald, as the Headmaster, I am sorry for everything you have suffered on campus."

"Feel sorry?"

Argus laughed.

If you really felt sorry, you should have shown up the first time Ron stole something during flight class.

Was it really necessary to wait until now?

If it weren't for Professor McGonagall's integrity, Ron would be completely fine!

Headmaster!

"Headmaster, you are extremely busy and cannot possibly attend to every single detail."

"Ron's mistake is his own problem, it has nothing to do with you."

His answer was sarcastic, mocking Dumbledore's incompetence as headmaster in every way.

Dumbledore, however, acted as if he hadn't understood at all. Instead of refuting him, he continued on his line of thought.

"Yes, Ron's mistakes were ultimately his own doing."

"If Harry continues to be influenced by him, the future..."

"Stop!" Argus sensed the hidden meaning in Dumbledore's words and quickly called for a halt.

"Headmaster, it is Harry's own choice to be friends with whomever he wants."

"He has no choice but to bear the consequences of whoever affected him!"

"I know."

Dumbledore spoke slowly.

"But Ron is no longer suitable to be Harry's friend, at least... he shouldn't be his closest friend."

"If he's not suitable, who is? Me?"

Argus scoffed.

He looked up and found Dumbledore silently watching him, which startled him.

"You want me to take Ron's place?"

Dumbledore was also helpless.

He would not have chosen Argus if there were any other options.

In the past few days, he has screened all the candidates.

Neville... is too cowardly to handle things.

Seamus... only knows how to cause explosions, his talent is average, his family is average, and he can't be a solid support for Harry.

Hermione... an ardent Argus fangirl, who has a terrible attitude towards Harry because of Ron, and refuses to talk to him at all.

And Draco is even more out of the question!

After much thought, it turns out that the only person I can use is Argus!

Even if he didn't want to, he could only hold his nose and swallow it!

In any case, with Argus around, Harry won't turn out as bad as Ron!

"Forget it, I don't have time to look after kids."

Argus resolutely refused.

"You don't need to be by his side all the time like Ron. Just give him the right guidance at certain times."

I wouldn't feel comfortable having you by Harry's side all the time!

In just a few days, Dumbledore witnessed Argus's extraordinary charm.

The whole school is full of his little fans.

Even the professors spoke highly of him!

In desperation, he had no choice but to resort to this compromise to control Argus's influence over Harry.

"If that's the case, I can consider it, but I have one condition."

Tell me about it.

"I have several shops opening soon in Diagon Alley, and I hope you can help me resolve the trouble from the pure-blood families. This shouldn't be too difficult for you, right?"

Argus made this condition after careful consideration.

The acolytes had just entered England and their foundations were shallow. It would not be wise for them to engage in direct conflict with a large number of pure-blood families.

However, if they don't show some strength, they will inevitably be seen as easy targets.

Further troubles followed.

At this point, waving Dumbledore's banner and borrowing his power is the best option.

These purebloods dared not fight Dumbledore; even if they wanted to, they would have to consider Dumbledore's attitude.

As for giving Harry guidance... please, you said it was "sometimes"!

When to help him is entirely up to me.

Argus was hatching his own scheme.

Dumbledore remained silent, clearly considering the pros and cons of the matter.

After a long while, he slowly nodded.

It's just a matter of a few shops; with his influence in the magical world, cleaning up some trouble wouldn't be difficult.

"It's a deal!"

"Then I will await your promise."

Having received the reply he wanted, Argus gave a slight bow and left the Headmaster's office.

A hint of doubt flashed in his eyes.

That's really strange!

Old Deng didn't even ask me about going into Quirrell's office!
