Although Mu Xue still harbored a trace of suspicion toward Yi Yunfei, since Oliver himself had made it clear that he didn't mind, she naturally didn't press the issue further.
After all, she and Yi Yunfei were colleagues to begin with, and their relationship wasn't bad. Her earlier reaction had only been due to concern that he might harbor hostility toward Oliver.
The three of them took the elevator down to the first floor and then walked through a series of long corridors.
Along the way, everyone they encountered stopped to greet them respectfully.
They were clearly accustomed to seeing members of the Elite Four, so when their gazes fell on Oliver, what they felt wasn't reverence—but confusion.
Who was this young man, walking side by side with two Elite Four members?
"I always feel like that kid looks familiar…"
"Same here. I'm sure I've seen him somewhere, but I just can't remember."
Suddenly, another staff member exclaimed in realization:
"I remember now—he's Oliver! The genius researcher who discovered the Fairy type!"
"Wait—really?!"
They hurriedly turned to look in the direction the three had gone, hoping to catch another glimpse of the legendary prodigy.
But the trio had already disappeared from sight.
Even so, the news that Oliver had arrived at the League headquarters spread like wildfire. Almost everyone began speculating about why he was there.
Yi Yunfei led Oliver and Mu Xue to a sightseeing vehicle, then personally took the driver's seat.
"Is the Treasure Vault far from here?" Oliver asked curiously.
"Haha, very far," Yi Yunfei replied.
"We're currently at the boundary between the Administrative Zone and the Resource Zone. The Treasure Vault is on the other end of the Resource Zone—basically across the entire area."
The sightseeing vehicle rolled forward along a wide road.
On both sides grew rows upon rows of berry trees, each one extraordinarily precious.
Oliver even spotted a massive tree bearing only a single, tiny fruit.
It looked extremely similar to the Enigma Berry he had seen in Celebi's Secret Realm—specifically, the one Torterra had given him.
Judging by its size, it was likely an unripe Enigma Berry, which instantly made Oliver's heart stir.
He knew all too well how valuable an Enigma Berry was.
Milotic's and Gardevoir's exceptional control over energy—at least one-fifth of that could be credited to that single Enigma Berry.
However, the moment Oliver noticed three quasi–Elite Four–level Grass-type Pokémon guarding the tree, he immediately extinguished any dangerous thoughts.
Along the way, he saw countless other berry trees.
Almost every berry known to the world was being cultivated here.
Only then did Oliver truly understand what national foundation meant.
And this was merely the berry resources alone—already dazzling enough to overwhelm him.
Before long, the sightseeing vehicle stopped in front of a massive building.
"This is the Treasure Vault," Yi Yunfei said with a smile. "Let's go."
He led Oliver and Mu Xue inside and handed the required documents to the security personnel stationed there.
Oliver couldn't help but notice that the number of visible guards was surprisingly small—so few that they could be counted at a glance.
Is the League really this confident? Aren't they worried about infiltration at all?
Though puzzled, Oliver kept his questions to himself.
After careful verification, the guards allowed them to pass.
Inside, resources were neatly categorized and displayed—
Evolution Stones, Miracle Seeds, Charcoal, and countless other items filled the space.
Everything was comprehensive, and the quality was top-tier.
But…
"These don't seem worthy of being called Legendary-tier," Oliver muttered inwardly.
Yi Yunfei smiled and explained:
"This is indeed the Treasure Vault—but it's only what outsiders are meant to see.
The real Treasure Vault can only be accessed by those who've reached a certain level within the League."
As he spoke, he turned toward a nearby wall and swiped the special card across it.
With a low rumble—
The floor behind them slowly split open, revealing a staircase descending into the depths.
So this is where the real Treasure Vault is…
The three of them walked downward.
At the bottom of the stairs lay a vast, open space.
On the ground rested dozens of Pokémon, all with their eyes closed, seemingly asleep.
Behind these slumbering Pokémon stood an enormous gate forged from an unknown metal.
As if sensing the arrival of outsiders, the Pokémon awakened one by one and rose to their feet.
Layer upon layer of terrifying pressure rolled toward them, almost suffocating.
Oliver hurriedly activated his system to check their information.
Pokémon: Salamence
Level: Elite Four – Late
Potential: Elite Four Class
Pokémon: Charizard
Level: Elite Four – Mid
Potential: Elite Four Class
Pokémon: Samurott
Level: Elite Four – Early
Potential: Elite Four Class
Pokémon: Dragonite
Level: Champion – Mid
Potential: Champion Class
Among these dozens of Pokémon, even the weakest were Elite Four–level, while the strongest had reached mid-Champion level.
Dozens of Pokémon above Elite Four rank, all staring directly at you—
Oliver now understood what that felt like.
It truly seemed as though if he so much as twitched, they would instantly pounce and tear him apart.
Yi Yunfei respectfully handed the special card to the Dragonite.
Dragonite examined it briefly, then nodded and kept it.
Yi Yunfei explained calmly:
"Pokémon live far longer than humans. Many times, when we humans grow old and die, our Pokémon are still in their prime.
After League-affiliated Trainers pass away, some Pokémon choose to return to the wild. Others choose to obey their Trainer's final wish—to protect Xia Country.
The League cannot command these Pokémon. But when Xia Country faces danger, they will act of their own will.
Because their power is simply too great, and to prevent unnecessary chaos, some of them remain here in long-term slumber, guarding the true Treasure Vault."
Oliver hadn't expected such a hidden history behind these guardians.
With a lineup like this, it was no wonder the League felt absolutely secure.
After verification was complete, only Oliver was permitted to proceed further.
Yi Yunfei and Mu Xue remained behind.
As Oliver stepped forward, the massive gate slowly closed behind him.
Even for Yi Yunfei—himself a Dragon-type Elite Four—being stared down by dozens of Pokémon of equal or greater rank made his heart pound slightly.
"…I really haven't been here in too long," he muttered quietly.
"Forgot about this part. If I'd remembered, I might not have come at all."
Inside the True Treasure Vault
The interior wasn't lavish at all—rather, it was quite plain.
Yet every single resource within radiated overwhelming presence, bathed in flowing light and dazzling effects, elevating the atmosphere to an entirely different level.
Oliver scanned them one by one with the system.
Ruby Fragments
Flames of Moltres
Purifying Water
Rainbow Wing
Primal Water
Regirock's Core
At a glance, nearly every item was connected to Legendary Pokémon.
This made Oliver realize something—
Even though Legendary Pokémon rarely appeared before humanity, humans had clearly obtained a great deal of information—and fragments—from them over time.
Oliver carefully examined the function of every Legendary-tier resource he passed.
After repeated comparison and elimination, he finally narrowed his choice down to three Legendary-tier resources, marking them as candidates for his final decision.
