Henry's eyes opened slowly.
The first thing he saw wasn't the expected bedroom ceiling... but an endless white expanse, as far as the eye could see.
"Where am I?" He muttered groggily.
He rubbed his eyes, as if expecting that he'd wake up from a dream.
Blinking twice... he instantly sobered up, his eyes widened as he spun around rapidly.
"What's going on here?!" He shouted loudly, though his voice was completely swallowed by the void.
As he cautiously took in his surroundings, he was beyond surprised.
He was suspended within a boundless white space.
Henry looked up, down, left and right... nothing but a colorless void stretching out in every direction.
"How did I get here?... I went to bed just fine last night, and now..." Henry's thoughts spun rapidly as he desperatly tried to make sense of his current predicament.
Looking at his body, he noticed that he was still wearing his pajamas.
"I'm not sure what's going on here, but there has to be an explanation for all this... right?"
His question wasn't answered by words...
Not a moment after he'd spoken, a huge tremor shook within the void... as if summoned from space itself, the shock rippled fiercely, blasting out in every direction.
The force slammed into him.
"What the he..." his sentence was instantly cut off as the sudden shockwave sent him reeling through the void.
"Ahhh...!! ahhh..!!" He spun like a rag doll... whipping across the empty space, his screams drew a distorted trail as he flipped helpless through the void.
After flying for more than thirty seconds, he slowly came to a halt... he looked almost pitiful at this point, floating belly-up like a dead goldfish.
"Damn it!..." Henry's head spun rapidly as he slowly regained focus.
As he straightened his posture... his breath caught as he looked in the direction he'd just flown from.
"W-whoah... what the hell is that thing!"
Henry stared with wide eyes... his mouth gaping open in astonishment.
As if it had materialized from thin air, a huge, golden roulette wheel stood proudly in the distant void.
"Yup... I must be dreaming." Henry muttered under his breath, though the words sounded rather unconvincing... even to his own ears.
He gulped audibly as he approached, he moved with utmost caution... slowly swimming towards it...
As if sensing his approach, the roulette wheel pulsed brightly.
"Shit... not again!" Henry was instantly frightened, his arms and legs flailed about wildly as he desperatly scrambled to get away.
Thankfully, the expected blast never came...
"Whew... that thing nearly gave me a heart attack." He laughed awkwardly at his own expense.
Though for a while, he didn't dare attempt to get close.
After five minutes had passed with no surprises from the wheel, he gritted his teeth... Steeling his resolve as he slowly approached once more.
'I guess this is how it feel to be in outer space.' He mused, as he paddled over awkwardly.
When he'd reached within ten meters... he could finally make out the words written upon the huge structure.
"Wait a minute... Bleach, One Piece, DragonBall, this..."
He was astonished... these were all names of anime and manga he had watch and read several times before... now densely packed unto the wheel in glowing scripts.
Though some of them were unfamiliar... the majority of them he'd recognized.
"Could this be..." his pulse raced... an absurd thaught surfaced within his mind.
"Spin... spin now!" He shouted excitedly between ragged breaths.
His voice rippled throughout the void...
As if it were obeying his command... the roulette began turning slowly at first, before it accelerated into a dazzling display of light, spinning rapidly within the void.
Henry smiled widely... his eyes blazing as he watched the spinning wheel with intense focus...
He was almost sure of it now... this was his chance.
A chance to be transported to an entirely different world.
