Chapter 24 - THE KING'S AWAKENING

Chapter: 24 The King's Awakening

The forest trembled.

The clash between A1 and the dark elf had already lasted far longer than it should have.

At first, the battle had looked intense.

Blades flashed.

Trees shattered.

Shockwaves rippled across the forest floor.

But as time passed, something became painfully obvious.

This was not a fair fight.

It never had been.

The dark elf panted heavily.

Her chest rose and fell rapidly as sweat dripped down her face. Her once graceful movements had slowed. Her clothes were torn in several places from the earlier impacts.

Yet her golden eyes still burned with determination.

Across from her…

A1 stood perfectly still.

The silver aura around his body flickered lazily like moonlight reflecting off calm water.

He hadn't even drawn a weapon.

The dark elf gritted her teeth.

"You… bastard."

Her voice trembled with rage.

A1 tilted his head slightly.

For the first time since the fight began…

He sighed.

Not loudly.

Just a quiet breath.

But that single breath carried more weight than all the explosions of the battle.

Because it meant something simple.

He was bored.

Very bored.

The dark elf immediately felt it.

That invisible shift.

Her instincts screamed again.

Danger.

But this time the feeling was worse.

This time it felt like standing in front of a mountain that had finally decided to move.

The End of the Game

A1 slowly raised his hand.

The silver aura surrounding his body suddenly changed.

It began spreading outward.

Like mist rolling through a valley.

The aura flowed across the ground, through the trees, over the leaves and branches.

The entire clearing was swallowed by silver light.

The watching beasts froze.

Even B2 stopped eating berries.

C3 slowly lowered his hand.

The Hellflame Bison raised its massive head.

Above them, the Gargoyle General stopped chewing his fruit mid-bite.

"…Oh."

The air pressure changed.

The silver aura condensed.

It flowed back toward A1.

Faster.

Denser.

Sharper.

Like a river suddenly rushing back into a single point.

The ground beneath his feet cracked.

The trees bent away from him.

The silver light gathered around his arm.

Then his hand moved.

A simple motion.

But the forest itself seemed to hold its breath.

"Sword Aura: Mountain Slash."

The world split.

A colossal arc of silver energy erupted forward.

It was not just an attack.

It looked like an entire mountain had been carved out of the sky and hurled toward the dark elf.

The earth shook violently.

A canyon formed instantly beneath the slash.

Trees exploded into splinters as the attack tore through the forest.

The dark elf's pupils shrank.

Her mind screamed one word.

Death.

There was no way to dodge.

No way to escape.

The attack was too large.

Too fast.

Too overwhelming.

Her hand trembled.

Then—

Her palm began to glow.

The strange evil god stigma carved into her skin suddenly burned with dark energy.

A forbidden symbol.

A power that should not exist in this world.

Her voice echoed through the clearing.

"…Fine."

Her smile twisted.

"If you want to see it—"

"Then see it."

The stigma flared.

Dark green energy erupted from her palm.

She slammed her hand against the ground.

"Forbidden Spirit Invocation: Serpent of the Ancient Woods!"

The earth exploded.

Roots burst from the soil.

Mana surged violently through the forest.

Then something massive began forming around her.

A gigantic serpent.

Its body made entirely of living vines, bark, and emerald mana.

A High-Tier Nature Spirit Beast.

Its eyes glowed with ancient power.

The serpent coiled around the dark elf's body protectively.

The spirit roared.

The forest shook.

Then the serpent lunged forward.

Straight toward the incoming slash.

The Collision

For a single moment…

Everything became silent.

Then—

BOOM.

The collision shook the entire domain.

The silver slash struck the serpent's body.

The serpent roared as its massive coils tightened around the dark elf.

Nature energy surged like a raging storm.

Roots exploded from the ground.

Vines wrapped around the attack.

Trying to stop it.

Trying to hold it back.

But the silver slash didn't slow.

Not even slightly.

The serpent's roar turned into a scream.

Then—

The blade of aura passed through it.

Cleanly.

Effortlessly.

Like a knife cutting through water.

The serpent split in half.

The dark elf's eyes widened in disbelief.

"…Impossible—"

The silver slash continued.

It struck her body.

BOOM.

The ground shattered.

The shockwave blasted through the forest.

When the dust settled…

The battlefield was silent.

A deep scar stretched across the land.

At the center of it…

The dark elf lay on the ground.

Her right arm was gone.

Not severed.

Not cut.

Completely disintegrated.

Blood soaked the soil beneath her.

Her breathing was shallow.

Her vision blurred.

Above her…

A1 stood calmly.

The silver aura slowly faded.

The forest reacted immediately.

Corrupted vines slithered across the ground.

They wrapped around the dark elf's body.

Her remaining arm.

Her legs.

Her waist.

The vines lifted her into the air.

She hung there like a prisoner.

Bound tightly.

The vines slowly carried her deeper into the forest.

Toward one destination.

The bunker.

The Blood Spring Chamber

Deep beneath the forest…

Inside the underground bunker…

Silence filled the chamber.

At the center of the room stood a strange pool.

A blood spring.

Dark crimson liquid slowly bubbled from the stone floor.

The room pulsed with eerie energy.

Then—

The surface of the blood spring rippled.

A hand emerged.

Pale.

Steady.

Then another.

A figure slowly rose from the crimson liquid.

Draven.

His eyes opened slowly.

The moment his consciousness returned…

Something changed.

Far above the bunker…

Across the entire forest…

Every creature froze.

The corrupted beasts.

The ravens.

The undead knights.

Even the massive barrier formation in the sky.

They all felt it.

Their master had awakened.

Inside the chamber…

Draven stepped out of the blood spring.

His body had been completely reconstructed.

Every wound.

Every broken bone.

Gone.

Only one mark remained.

The evil god stigma burned faintly across his back.

His vision swayed slightly.

"…Tch."

His head spun from the long sleep.

Before he could stand properly—

A figure appeared behind him.

A1.

He quietly held out a metal flask.

"…Water."

Draven blinked slowly.

He took the flask.

Drank.

Cold water ran down his throat.

His mind cleared slightly.

He sat down on the stone floor.

"…How long?"

A1 answered calmly.

"Several days."

Draven rubbed his forehead.

"…Feels longer."

The Domain Recognizes Its King

Above the bunker…

The forest exploded with energy.

A massive crimson aura erupted from the underground chamber.

It shot upward like a pillar of blood-red lightning.

The aura pierced through the trees.

Through the clouds.

Straight into the sky.

The red eye of the barrier formation rotated.

The crimson aura struck it directly.

For a moment…

The barrier trembled.

The sky distorted.

Then something unexpected happened.

Instead of breaking…

The barrier changed.

The formation slowly shifted.

Its mana structure rearranged.

The massive red eye pulsed once.

Then it calmed.

The barrier no longer resisted.

Instead…

It became part of Draven's domain.

The forest expanded its control.

The barrier was now another extension of its power.

The domain had grown stronger.

Much stronger.

The Gathering

Outside the bunker…

Thousands of figures gathered.

Every creature within the domain had felt the awakening.

The corrupted beasts lined the forest clearing.

Mutated wolves.

Twisted bears.

Serpents with glowing eyes.

Above them circled hundreds of Corrupted Stalker Ravens.

Their wings darkened the sky.

In front of the bunker stood a disciplined formation.

The Blood Lancers.

Armored warriors holding long crimson spears.

Behind them stood the Undead Knight Unit.

Their rusted armor clanked softly as they stood perfectly still.

At their front…

The Death Knight Samuel.

His dark armor radiated cold death energy.

Nearby stood B2 and C3.

Behind C3 waited the Hellflame Bison.

Massive.

Silent.

Towering over most of the beasts.

Above them landed several massive winged figures.

The Berserk Gargoyles.

Three thousand of them.

A new unit created by the Gargoyle General.

Their stone bodies cracked with violent energy.

Their glowing eyes stared toward the bunker.

At the very front stood the Gargoyle General himself.

His wings folded respectfully.

Everyone waited.

The bunker door slowly opened.

Footsteps echoed across the clearing.

Draven stepped outside.

The moment he appeared…

The entire forest bowed.

The beasts lowered their heads.

The ravens circled above him.

The undead knights knelt.

Even the gargoyles bent one knee.

Draven looked around slowly.

His crimson eyes reflected the entire army before him.

A faint smile appeared.

"…Looks like things got interesting while I was asleep."
