Xenia's Pov :
"Children's are naive and forgetful.No need to take their word's to your heart."He say's coldly and i instantly get the meaning."Isn't that right Miss Ashford?"
He is clearly creating a distance and telling me that there's no hope for me even if he Eli calls me mom.
Not that i want to be his mom..either…okay maybe i do want but i don't want anything to have to do with his dad.
"Yes..Of course."
"Is it convenient for you to bring Eli to an address tomorrow?Fiena mentioned that you don't like attracting attention so we wont go over to your apartment."
I look at Fiena and sigh in relief.
Thank god she mentioned that.I can't imagine the attention it will bring if he came over here.
Our neighbourhood are isn't bad at all but it's mostly where people like to live peacefully and without any drama.It's filled with people of scholarly type of profession.Just like my parents,both are university professor's.
"Yes.You can send me the address.I will bring him over tomorrow."As soon as i said that,the line is dead.
The smile on my face becomes awkward and i look down at Eli."Seems like your father is a person of few word's."
"He is just a scoundrel!"He scoff's and i choke on my saliva before making sure that his dad hung up the call.
Damn,my heart had just reached my throat.He sure is courageous.
The next morning
Jude leaves for school and i head out with Eli after breakfast.Fiena had gone to meet her brother at the company early in the morning.
Eli hold's my hand obediently and takes small step's as we reach the park that his dad had sent me the address of yesterday.
His head hang's low and he look's dispirited.
Why do i feel guilty seeing him like this?
He has to go back to his family after all.He can't just be with me when he has a family.
"Eli?"I sigh in defeat and crouch down in front of him."Are you really this sad to meet your dad?He is going to think i bullied you if you keep being like this my little ancestor."I say pinching his small chubby cheek.
He frown's like a grown up."Daddy know's i can't be bullied by any girl's.And it is true,i am sad to meet him.Why does he has to come?I can't stay with mommy anymore because of him.."
I chuckle and twist his ear playfully."You little brat.Fine stop sulking.I will come over to see you often with aunty Fiena okay?"
His eyes lit up with fireworks and i feel a little guilty for lying.I just said it so he wont be sad but i feel like a hooligan for lying to a kid now.
"Really?You will come to see me?"
I nod and he smiles."Anyway mommy will be with me soon.I can see mommy everyday then!"
Before i can ask what he mean's,a pair of black shoes stop behind him.
Looking up,i see a tall man staring down at us curiously with his blue eyes.He is wearing a black suit that kinda betray's his glowing aura.
Why does he..give off such a familiar feeling?Have i seen him somewhere?
"Miss..Ashford?"He say's politely and i nod,getting up slowly.His blond hair shine's under the sun,completely different from Eli's black raven hair.
Okay now i can tell where Eli got his look's from.His dad is clearly very handsome.
"I am Kayden.Eli's father.Thank you for taking care of him these few day's.I hope he didn't trouble you much."He say's with a small and polite smile that instantly makes one relax.
Strange,he seem's like an easy going and gentle person.But why did he seem so cold and cruel yesterday?Was it because we were talking on the phone?
"He didn't trouble me at all.He is a really sensible child."I say ruffling Eli's hair.Eli grab's Kayden's leg genly and look's up at him with innocent eyes."Papa!"
Oh gosh,my heart just melted.How can a child be so cute and adorable?
"You still remember your papa huh?I heard you didn't want to return yesterday.Let me see,are you okay?Did you have breakfast?"Mr Creed ask's pinching Eli's cheek.
