Charles woke up ready for the hunting. He stretched. Slowly walked out of the cave. The fog was low and overbearing. "Let's get started." Charles muttered. Slowly walking down.
"Yeah you have to hunt a lot of chaos beasts." I said as I settled on his shoulder. The fog was unsettling. As we heard howls it was so close it seemed to be all around us.
"Yeah well it seems to be something watching me." Charles spoke. But then his muscle tense but barely moved his form of his shrug.
"But your reaction tells me that you're going to ignore it." I said.
"Yep as it would be a waste of me hunting." Charles said as a deep and loud honking sound. It was a massive Icicle Sloth; it must have reached the first nexus. Its side was covered in icicles on its back.
"That would be enough to be worth at least four Icicle Sloths." I said he had a smile on his face. As its massive sloth hammer-like arm slammed down. Crushing a lot of the trees that were Charles around him. Its massive figure stood like a mountain. Charles' eyes changed into Deus Stella. His golden pupils glowed in the fog. It let out such a massive honking sound. The gale force of the wind. The mist started to clear a bit.
"Welp, I will see you when you win." I said as I took to the air. Flapping into the air above the battlefield.
"Hey, are you going?" Charles asked, clearly confused. This time barely rolling out of the way of a storm of icicles.
"Careful after a Chaos Beast when it reaches the first Nexus gets an ability." I said looking down at the battlefield once again he had to dodge a claw swipe but it threw an avalanche worth of snow at him. Leaving him buried in snow. Charles quickly resurfaced.
"And you tell me this now?" Charles questioned with anger.
"Damn this thing is bigger than that Bear." Alice spoke as the sloth arm hammered down seemingly crushing him. The Sloth let out a loud honking sound repeatedly it sounded like a mad man laughing.
"Don't count me out." Charles said walking out of the snow. With a glare in his eyes. His golden eyes met the insane massive eyes of the sloth.
"Really how did he live?" Alice asked in pure shock. "This is some plot armor." She muttered. As I slowly flapped down.
"Well he was on top of uncompacted snow. He was just slammed into the uncompacted snow." I told her as she nodded.
"Okay that makes sense." Alice said with a small nod. As Charles shot a Bala into the beast's knee knocking it onto sloth knee.
"That poor beast." I said with a long sigh.
"Gear Shift: Rage Gear." Charles said as his guns glowed red. As he fired three red Bala they exploded blood rained down. Staining the white snow a dark crimson.
"How about you ask." I said with a small smile knowing that I gauge his reaction. He would either be mad and I will not use another test dummy. But if he got over the death of Jackal then his reaction should not be volatile. She would be my test dummy.
"Okay maybe I should." Alice said with a small smile on her face. As it let out another loud honking sound. As it finally fell over like a massive tree.
"Damn it is dead already." I said as Charles started dragging the body. Leaving a massive trail of crimson blood.
"Yet he is dragging that large of the body." Alice asked with shock.
"Why won't this be able to feed the others?" Charles asked me, looking at me.
"Because our group has been growing steadily because of this we need more and more food." I explained as he nodded a bit.
"Okay then." Charles said with a small smile. As he dropped the dead corpse as it seemed to wake a few of them up.
"Well we need to bring in more prey." Alice said with a small smile.
"Was this 'we' you see or is he invisible? Or is it French?" Charles asked if the sarcastism was dripping from his voice.
"Really?" Alice asked with anger in her voice. Letting lose a long sigh.
"We! We! Where are you We!" Charles yells out, waking up even more people.
"Can you stop?" Alice asked, her face screamed annoyed.
"We! Where are you!" Charles continued to yell cupping his hand on each side of his mouth.
"Stop." I told him the joke was not getting any funnier. Charles instantly stopped.
"Fine." Charles said with his eyes rolled. As we started walking back into the forest.
"So how much more meat do we need?" Alice asked. Following closely behind Charles.
"A lot more." Charles' voice was barely a whisper. The snow crunching below Charles and Alice. As the hunt continued. About a dozen Snow Elk.
"Okay, what's the plan?" Alice asked, looking at them.
"Noble Phantasm." Charles said as a translucent blob formed in the middle of the deer. It grew for a few seconds but then it blew up. Countless deer rain but many of them were injured.
"Okay bombing them." Alice spoke, seeing many half dead deer.
"Well, look at all of them." Charles spoke with pride. Alice threw Charles a long rope. Tying in onto the male antlers and the neck of the females. As he starts to drag the many corpses of the Snow Deer.
"Fine I will admit that you are right." Alice said with a small amount of shame in her voice.
"It can also double as training for Noble Phantasm." Charles spoke with pride.
"What do you mean Noble Phantasm?" Alice asked, looking at him with a suspicious look.
"A move I have been trying to learn. But since it got stronger, it exploded in my face." Charles said with a small smile in his voice.
"So what is the point of summoning far away and rushing the transformation into a wolf?" Alice asked.
"Yeah." Charles said as he was half way to the camp. But something was wrong. How did she know it could take the form of a wolf? Nah maybe Charles told her it was going to take the form of a wolf.
"The first step will be making them quite far away. Then the second step will be making many of them. The third step will be for them to take shape. But I am also going to make it bigger and for it to last longer." Charles explains looking back at the strings of corpses.
"That is an interesting way to learn the move." Alice said something was just off. Her smile did not quite reach her eyes.
"Thank you but it is a shame that all of the deer scattered." Charles said with a little bit of sadness. Letting out a long sigh.
"It's your fault you thought they would stay still and be killed." I said landing on his shoulders.
"Yeah you're right guys! Time to grab the food." Charles yells as they start to cut up the food.
"Thank you." A random person said they were about a quarter done with the massive Icicle Sloth.
"You're welcome." Charles said. With a small amount of happiness as he started to walk back into the forest. Seeing about a dozen more hunting groups that were spreading out.
"A few more things that all we need." Alice said with a smile.
"Really last time I checked that I was doing all the work so if you want to be a team then hunt down a few more things." Charles said with a mock glare letting out a long sigh. Looking at it, there were dead deers. Having bite marks on their neck.
