Cherreads

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Transfer (Pt. 2)

In a classroom packed with a lot of students and some who were just entering, there was one student who was quietly sitting at his desk, reading his manga. All of sudden, a feminine and cheery voice was heard next to where the boy was sitting,

"Hi Nagumo-kun! What are you reading this time," asked the voice.

Hajime was startled when someone said his name, even more so when he recognized who specifically said it.

"Shirasaki-san," Hajime answered worriedly.

The girl who called Hajime's name made her way towards his desk and leaned over a bit to press her hands on the desk.

"Oh come on Nagumo-kun, why are you so nervous? It's not like I'm going to do anything," she said.

"It's not you doing anything to me that has me so worried," he said as he looked around, eyes from nearly every person in the class boring into him with either hatred or jealousy. Actually, it may be both in the guy's case

Hajime shrank down into his manga book due to the glares. Meanwhile, the girl in question seems rather oblivious to his plight.

Then another person walked in, "Alright everyone. Class is about to get started, so take your seats please," was what they announced.

Everyone heard and listened. Shirasaki also listened, though was a little reluctant to do so. After all, she still didn't get a good look at the manga Hajime was reading.

The person who made the announcement, a woman who was rather small and cute, yet had on a suit with a pencil skirt, faced the classroom with a smile,

"Ok class, before we get started, we have a new transfer student coming in. Please give him a warm welcome as he arrives," she said professionally.

After she gave the news, people started murmuring to themselves. "New transfer student?" "Him?" "I wonder what he's like?" "Hopefully he's not some useless otaku nerd like that one freak." These were the voices that were heard.

Then the class doors opened and someone walked in. He walked to the front of the classroom, then looked around to see everyone sitting down looking at him.

"Hello mister. Please introduce yourself to the class."

The man in question nodded, picked up a piece of chalk, wrote his name on the board, then turned to face the class, just like he had done 4 times before.

"Hello everyone, my name is Sargon Kaze. I'm a recent foreign transfer student that enrolled today. I hope we get along," he ended with a bow.

The soft murmuring sprang once again, though the topic was a little different yet expected for these people. "Sargon?" "What a weird name." "He's definitely not Japanese." "Well he didn't look like one either." "But his surname is. Maybe he's mixed?"

Hajime looked on and narrowed his eyes, "Hold on. Haven't I seen him somewhere before?"

Kaori's eyes on the other hand, were widened, "Wait, is he?"

"There's an open seat between Nagumo-kun and Shirasaki-san. Why don't you take that one," said the woman.

"Very well, thank you Hatayama-sensei," Sargon said politely.

He made his way towards the desk, sat down on the chair, set his notebook and textbook down, and brought his pencils and pens out.

Aiko Hatayama, the Social Studies teacher for this class, then spoke again, "Alright, now we can begin. Open your textbooks to page 51...."

[Timeskip - After School]

In the Daedalus/Kaze household, Max was sitting down watching tv while Calca was fixing dinner. Then a sound was heard from the front door, which then opened. In stepped Sargon,

"I'm home!"

Max waved his hand up, "Welcome back son."

Calca turned around from the stove and gave a smile, "Hey Sargon sweetie. How was your first day of normal school?"

As Sargon took off his shoes and went deeper into the living room, he sat on one of the chairs and sighed, "To be honest, it was rather boring. All of the class subjects were something I either was already well inept at or had quickly grasped the meaning and understanding of."

At that, Max chuckled, "Yeah, I figured it'd be boring to you. But it is somewhat refreshing, don't you think?"

Sargon nodded while smiling, "Yes, it wasn't all dull. I did get to see a familiar face after all."

Max finally turned towards Sargon and raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Who else goes to the school?"

"No one you nor I know personally," Sargon started. "But someone whom I helped out of a jam one time. You remember the day I told you and mom about the time I helped someone, right?"

[Flashback Start]

Sargon was on a stroll one Saturday evening, when he heard a commotion up ahead, 'Uh oh, that sounds like trouble,' he thought with a sigh as he walked to where the commotion was.

A couple minutes later, he found 2 delinquent like figures harassing a woman and a child, "Your kid ran into me, b**ch! I deserve some type of compensation," the thug screamed angrily.

"Yeah, give us something good," the other one said aggressively.

The woman was kneeling before the 2 angry thugs, profusely apologizing while hugging the boy, "I'm so sorry. Please forgive him, he's just a child!"

The child in question was shivering and looking like he was going to cry. Sargon watched this scene with a dark frown on his face, 'To get angry and demand compensation over a child bumping into you? Just how self-entitled and petty can you be?'

Sargon looked right and left, yet saw that everyone was doing the same thing he was, watching. Sargon sighed, 'I suppose I'll have to intervene myself.'

But just as he was about to do just that, "Please forgive them!"

Someone else joined the fray, another person also kneeling, yet holding tightly onto one of the thug's legs. The thug, in question, looked down on the person, "Hey kid, you got a problem or somethin?! Let go of me!"

But the guy wouldn't let go and instead repeated what he said earlier, "Please forgive them!"

The other guy with him looked down angrily, "Are you deaf or what?! He said let go, you freak," he said as he tried to pull him off.

But try as he might, the boy still wouldn't let go and once again repeated himself, "Please forgive them!"

The delinquent thugs got even more angry and the guy who tried to pull him off yelled again, "Alright dumbass, you wanna die so badly?! Here it comes," he said as he got ready to kick the guy.

The person closed his eyes, waiting for the blow, instead he heard another voice, "Gentlemen please, there's no need for violence."

Sargon had finally stepped in, "Another idiot who wants to die playing hero huh," said one of the delinquents.

Sargon shook his head, "I don't wish to fight you 2, only offer you a deal. You seek compensation, yes? Why don't I compensate you with all the cash I have on hand," he said as he pulled out 2 1,000,000 yen stacks.

The thugs eyes went wide, as did the woman, boy, and the guy holding onto the thug's leg, "I'll leave you each with 1,000,000 yen if you agree to leave those 3 alone and continue about your day."

The 2 thugs looked at each other, then at Sargon, then at the 1,000,000 yen stacks. The main thug clicked his tongue, "Fine, give me your money and we'll be on our way."

Sargon walked up to the 2 thugs and handed them the stacks, which they took swiftly, "Alright kid, we'll forgive them like you said. You better be thankful we're so kind," the main one said to the person grabbing his leg. He then turned his head towards the woman and the boy, "You too!"

The woman quickly bowed, "Yes, thank you for your forgiveness!"

The thugs then walked off, after the guy let go of his arm. Sargon then kneeled to the woman and child, "I know you may wish to thank me for helping you, but I don't need anything material. Instead, watch out for people like them in the future," he said with a gentle smile.

The woman smiled with tears in her eyes, "Thank you, sir."

The boy also nodded his head, "Thank you mister!"

They then walked off. Sargon then turned to face the person who was on the ground and extended his hand towards him, "That was pretty brave of you. Well done."

The boy looked up and saw his gentle smile and hand outstretched. The boy took it as Sargon helped him up. The boy bowed, "Thank you for your help sir! I'll find a way to pay you back again someday, but I got to go. See you," he said as he ran off in a hurry.

Sargon looked on as he chuckled while shaking his head, not knowing that among the crowd of spectators, a girl was watching them both with a smile.

[Flashback End]

"Yeah, I remember. What about it," asked Max.

Sargon chuckled, "Well it turns out, he goes to that same school, and I sit on his right."

Calca's face lit up, "Aww how sweet! I'm glad you got to see him again!"

Sargon smiled, "Me too mom. By the way, is dinner ready yet? It smells good."

Calca giggled, "Nearly done. You 2 come over to the table, then we'll eat," she said.

"Alright, let's get some good eating," said Max excitedly.

Sargon snickered a little, then got up to go sit at the dinner table.
