"Leaders of humanity, my name is Giah. It all begins with my race."
"We do not belong to Earth. We are Skrulls."
"Years ago, my home planet was destroyed by the Kree Empire, and my people were hunted down relentlessly. We became refugees wandering the Universe."
Giah's voice was low and sorrowful.
"When we had nowhere else to turn, we fled to Earth. Here, we met a dark-skinned human named Nick Fury, and a woman with great power."
Hearing the name Nick Fury, President Ellis's brow twitched.
"Fury promised us that if we used our special abilities to work for him, he would find us a brand new, safe home in the Universe."
"We believed him. My family, and many of my fellow people, shed our original forms and put on human skin. We hid among you, becoming spies, informants, and soldiers, willingly working for him. Some even gave their lives for the safety of humanity."
Giah paused, a flicker of anger flashing in her eyes.
"But Fury delayed fulfilling his promise, and we were forced to hide forever in dark corners, living like parasites."
"These dark days saw the rise of a radical leader among my people named Gravik."
"He grew tired of the passivity of peaceful integration; he believed Fury and humanity were exploiting us. He decided to use more radical means to seize living space. He no longer wanted a mere corner to hide in; he wanted to turn Earth completely into our home!"
The conference room was silent as Giah continued.
"Gravik gathered a large number of exiled Skrulls from the Universe and established a Base in an abandoned nuclear power plant in the Soviet Union."
"Using our racial talents, we infiltrated every level of human society step by step. From ordinary civilians to business tycoons, from military generals to high-ranking government officials."
As they listened to Giah's account, the high-ranking officials in the conference room looked at each other, their faces filled with disbelief.
The Director of the CIA couldn't help but interrupt her, his tone heavy with skepticism.
"This is absolute nonsense! Madam! Are you telling a science fiction story?"
"For decades, aliens have been operating right under our noses? And our intelligence agencies didn't detect anything unusual?"
"Furthermore, you say you've infiltrated every level. Just how many of you are there?"
Giah looked the CIA Director straight in the eye and uttered a maddening number.
"Impossible!" The CIA Director slammed his hand on the table. "A million aliens hiding on Earth? Do you think we're all blind?"
"Because you simply cannot distinguish us," Giah stated the fact calmly. "And the one covering for us is the head of your humanity's largest secret organization."
Everyone was momentarily speechless.
There was a traitor to humanity.
And this traitor was the former King of Spies, the man on Earth most skilled at concealing the truth and possessing the highest intelligence clearance.
"Prove it to me," President Ellis said, staring sharply at Giah. "Prove every word you just said."
Facing Ellis's skepticism, Giah took half a step back.
Under the gaze of all the high-ranking officials, in just two seconds, a living human woman transformed into a green-skinned alien creature right before their eyes.
Before the officials in the conference room could react...
The green skin rippled like Water once again.
A few seconds later.
A living "President Ellis" stood before the real President Ellis.
Even the wrinkles at the corners of the eyes, the white hair at the temples, and the habitual slight lean to the left while standing were identical.
"Do you believe me now, Mr. President?" Giah asked, using a voice perfectly identical to President Ellis's.
The leaders of the other nations on the other side of the screen also showed expressions of extreme shock.
"Shit! It's fucking Nick Fury again!"
President Ellis looked at the person who was identical to him, cold sweat trickling down his forehead, and couldn't help but swear.
"That self-righteous idiot! How many crazy, stupid things has he done behind the Security Council's back!"
After venting his anger, Ellis forced himself to calm down; as a leader of a major power, he had to face this mess with a cool head.
"Ms. Giah," Ellis stared intently at her, "if your radical leader Gravik wants to seize Earth, what is his current objective? The assassinations have stopped; is he satisfied with merely taking out a few politicians?"
Giah reverted to her original human female appearance, looking at the high-ranking humans present with a complex expression.
"Mr. President, and everyone else, don't you understand yet?"
"Don't you find it strange why newly appointed leaders around the World have collectively remained silent at the same time?"
These words were like a key, unlocking a realization in everyone's mind.
"You mean...!!" the Minister of Defense cried out in terror.
A chilling truth surfaced in their hearts.
"My God..." Ellis murmured blankly. "You're saying... 99% of the national leadership in the World right now is fake! They're all fucking Skrulls in disguise?!"
The dove has taken over the magpie's nest!
No overwhelming fleets, no World-destroying high-dimensional weapons.
The Skrulls had taken over 99% of the World's national governments in just two weeks without shedding a drop of blood!
"Damn it! Damn it! These damn green-skinned monsters!"
The Minister of Defense jumped up in a rage, his eyes bloodshot like a crazed bull.
"We must take action immediately! Mr. President! Give the order!"
He waved his arms and roared, "Initiate Level 1 Combat Readiness! Get the strategic bombers in the air! Have the Helicarriers open fire! We must purge them! Before they launch all their missiles at our heads!"
"Shut up! Sit down!"
Ellis shouted angrily, interrupting the Minister of Defense's frantic clamoring.
He truly was a politician who had weathered great storms alongside Homelander and faced the pressure of an alien fleet.
After the initial shock, he maintained an astonishing level of rationality.
"Purge them? On what grounds?"
President Ellis looked coldly at the Minister of Defense, as if looking at a brainless idiot.
"Please, use that rusty brain of yours and think for a moment!"
"If we launch military strikes against the leaders of sovereign nations worldwide without solid evidence, do you know what that means?!"
"If it were just a country in South America, we could indeed crush them."
"But we are facing 99% of the World's nations! They are our allies, and they have Nukes too!"
"No matter how powerful the United States is, it cannot take on the entire World alone!"
President Ellis's words dampened the impulses of the Minister of Defense and the other officials.
The conference room fell into silence.
The high-level officials of the Ancient Eastern Nation on the other side of the screen also nodded silently, agreeing with President Ellis's analysis.
The situation had reached a dead end.
To fight is to become the enemy of all mankind. Not to fight is to let control of Earth fall into the pockets of aliens.
