Chapter 398 - Questions for the Third Prince

Inside the bedroom, the atmosphere still felt incredibly warm. However, the return of the head of the family was apparently not felt by Alrain alone.

On the bed, Allen, Ordion, and Alvein awoke from their slumber upon hearing the conversation taking place in the room.

The moment their eyelids fluttered open and their gazes caught the silhouette of a deeply familiar figure returning Alrain's hug, the three of them immediately got out of bed. They stepped toward their husband and instantly hugged him tightly from all sides.

At the exact same time, in another room, Alrian, who had been fast asleep, suddenly opened his eyes.

The subtle web of wind magic he constantly spread to cover every corner of the mansion, functioning as an absolute security detection radar, had just sent out a signal.

His detection caught a presence that had suddenly appeared in the first bedroom, now surrounded by Allen, Alrain, Ordion, and Alvein.

Realizing who had arrived, the green-haired youth instantly sat up. A wide smile bloomed on his lips.

Our husband is home! Alrian thought happily.

Wasting no time, he immediately woke Dylan, Arion, and Oliver. The moment Davin woke up and heard the news that their husband had returned, his drowsiness vanished instantly.

The brownish-white-haired youth immediately created two gates connecting directly to the other two bedrooms to wake up all of their husband's spouses.

On the other hand, Oliver, upon learning that Arvin had returned, instantly froze. His heart suddenly began to pound incredibly fast. He grew anxious, never expecting that tonight he would come face-to-face with the very figure who had been his primary focus all this time.

Meanwhile, in the first bedroom, Allen, Ordion, Alvein, and Alrain slowly released their embrace. They took a step back, gazing at Arvin's handsome face from a rather close distance to ease their longing.

"My Dear Husband, why did you suddenly come here?" Allen asked, feeling surprised by his husband's abrupt arrival. "And... where is Kylen?"

"Just wait a moment longer." Arvin replied in a calm, exceedingly gentle tone, his gaze directed at the bedroom door. "They will all be here soon."

Right after Arvin said that, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard, followed by the master bedroom door swinging open.

At the threshold, all of his spouses stood lined up, looking into the room. Relieved and happy smiles simultaneously graced their faces upon seeing with their own eyes that their husband had returned.

However, the relief washing over Arvin's spouses gradually turned into confusion as their eyes swept across the room. They did not see Kylen, who was supposed to have returned with their husband from the Flamort Kingdom.

"Where is Kylen?" Alrian asked, stepping into the room, burning with curiosity. "Why didn't he come home with you tonight?"

"Right now, he is still in the capital of the Flamort Kingdom." Arvin answered soothingly, his voice flowing calmly. "I came back just to sleep here. Because tomorrow morning..."

Arvin deliberately paused his sentence for a moment, his gaze shifting to lock onto the black-haired youth standing not far from Davin.

"...I will go visit the grave of Dylan's late mother, and officially propose to Dylan there."

The straightforwardly delivered announcement instantly made all of Arvin's spouses turn their heads toward Dylan in unison. They looked at the black-haired youth with enthusiasm and happy smiles.

And as for Dylan, who never expected to receive such a massive surprise in the middle of the night, he suddenly became extremely nervous.

The black-haired youth's face flushed red, his heart pounding rapidly upon hearing what his husband had just said in front of everyone.

"Then, what is Kylen's status now?" Davin suddenly asked, breaking the awkwardness of Dylan, who was currently flustered. "Are you and he already bound by the Life-and-Death Contract?"

Arvin did not answer the question with words. He only offered a faint smile, then slowly raised both his hands forward. He turned the backs of his hands, directly displaying the proof of their bond.

Under the bedroom's light, six white contract symbols were permanently engraved, overlapping and stacking against one another.

Seeing that their husband's hands now bore six Life-and-Death Contract symbols, their happiness peaked, as it meant Kylen and Arvin were now officially married in the eyes of the Gods.

However, in the midst of their interaction, Arvin's blue eyes caught sight of another existence. He discovered an unfamiliar yet deeply recognizable presence standing silently among the line of his spouses near the door.

And that person was Oliver.

"It seems we have a guest here." Arvin said, his voice dropping slightly lower. He was quite surprised by the fact that one of the romantic target characters was already inside his mansion.

Despite his slight surprise, Arvin knew in precise detail the reason behind the Third Prince of the Astoria Kingdom's decision to stay at his home.

On the other hand, Oliver, who had only been listening all this time, never expected his meeting with Arvin to happen tonight, much sooner than he had ever imagined.

"Come here!"

The voice sounded gentle and warm to his ears. Yet, the call successfully made the prince flinch slightly, refocusing his gaze on the head of the household.

With his heart pounding hard and burning with curiosity about what the head of the household wanted, the yellow-haired youth braced himself mentally. He stepped into the master bedroom and approached Arvin, who had called him over.

Oliver's steps came to a halt when the distance between them had closed significantly. Arvin and Oliver looked at each other for a few moments in silence.

"I will get straight to the point." Arvin said, opening the conversation between them. "Do you truly want to be my spouse?"

"Yes, I want to very much!" Oliver replied swiftly, without the slightest hesitation in his eyes.

"Does your father have anything to do with your sudden desire to have me as your husband?" Arvin asked again, tossing out a provocative question to gauge the romantic target's level of honesty.

"Initially, it was my father who asked me to marry you, telling me to meet Ordion at the east gate so I could live here with them." Oliver answered truthfully. "But my feelings for you right now have absolutely nothing to do with him!"

Arvin listened to his defense with an impassive face, then launched his next question.

"Then, what reason makes you, a prince, suddenly want to marry a man just like yourself?"

Faced with that logical question, Oliver smiled at him.

"Do I need to have a reason to love someone who has successfully captivated me since our very first meeting?" Oliver asked back, turning the argument around with utter smoothness and elegance.

Arvin completely understood the meaning behind the question Oliver had thrown back at him.

It was a declaration that one did not need many reasons just to love someone.

However, Arvin, who intimately knew the true personality of the romantic target currently standing before him, did not simply nod and blindly believe it.

In Arvin's memories of the original game's plot, Oliver Yudavius En Astoria was an incredibly intelligent character who always maintained a calm demeanor. While he appeared humble on the outside, he was actually highly manipulative.

The Third Prince of the Astoria Kingdom was exceedingly adept at reading any situation around him. He was also an expert at restraining himself, making it incredibly difficult for others to guess what his next move would be.
