Chapter 125 - Chapter 125: A Huge Fortune

Chapter 125: A Huge Fortune

Today.

For the residents of Angel Island, it was a momentous day.

Their god, Gan Fall, had been captured, and the new ruler—that silver-haired boy—had crushed the entire Divine Guard with overwhelming strength. The towering giant behind him stared down at them, forcing their submission.

No one dared resist. Anyone who did was executed.

Angel Island… had entered an unprecedented period of darkness. Everyone felt hopeless, afraid that the next person to die would be themselves.

The Divine Palace.

The palace where Gan Fall once lived.

At this moment, Jiang Qize sat on the throne, looking down at Gan Fall and the chieftain.

"I told you, I won't harm the people of the sky. But don't cause trouble for me. You don't need to do anything else—your only task is to produce sky shells, large quantities of them. Understood?"

His tone was calm as he spoke to the two of them.

To be honest, he had no idea how to govern anything. Now that he controlled Skypiea, he planned to leave things like this for the time being until he found someone suitable to take over.

"Sigh, if I'd known, I would've brought Celine ."

He quietly let out a breath.

Celine was talented at management; if she were here, he wouldn't have to worry about chaos. Of course, little Robin could also do it, but she was still too young.

"Yes!"

Gan Fall and the chieftain both nodded, their feelings complicated.

Even now, they didn't know how to address him—calling him "master" felt strange, calling him "god" was something he disliked, and he preferred being called "sir," which was equally odd to them.

"Mm. You may go. Get along peacefully, and don't cause trouble."

Jiang Qize waved them off.

They stepped out.

Half an hour later—

"Captain, I found it!"

Robin's voice came from outside.

She rushed in, cheeks flushed, and reported to him.

"You found the Golden City?" He stood up in surprise.

The whole reason he came to the sky was for this treasure; everything else was just incidental.

"Mhm!" Robin nodded vigorously.

"Let's go. Take me there."

"Yes, Captain."

The Golden City, Shandora.

The city beneath the Giant Jack vine.

Buzz—!

The massive wind god pterosaur descended, the fierce wind sweeping through the ruins and stirring up centuries of accumulated dust.

Tap, tap!

Jiang Qize and little Robin jumped down, landing firmly on the ground.

The moment he saw the scene before him, even Jiang Qize—someone from Earth—felt as though he was nearly blinded by the brilliance. A dazzling expanse of gold struck directly at his senses.

"So this is the Golden City… truly worthy of its name…" Jiang Qize said with excitement, laughing.

With this much gold, how much money could he make? He couldn't wait.

He licked his lips and pressed a hand to the ground.

Even the ground was golden—though he wasn't sure whether it was gold dust or something else.

"Recharge!"

He whispered the command.

[Ding! Recharge successful. You gained 5.9 billion Berries.]

Hearing the notification, Jiang Qize froze.

"How is it so little…"

He muttered in disbelief.

When he looked back toward Shandora, the city was no longer a shining sea of gold. It was all gray—ruins and weathered structures, many collapsed into rubble.

He checked the ground beneath him. The height was almost unchanged.

Which meant… all that gold earlier had just been a thin layer.

"What the—seriously? After all this trouble coming here, it's only this much… I thought I'd get at least hundreds of billions. Then I could stomp the Navy and crush the World Government in my hand."

Jiang Qize looked at the so-called Golden City and murmured.

"Sigh… looks like I was too naïve." He shook his head and sighed.
