Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: The Golden Bell

Chapter 126: The Golden Bell

Robin watched him cycle between excitement, disappointment, and resignation, and couldn't help feeling puzzled. What was going on with the captain—was he not feeling well?

  "Let's go."

Jiang Qize let out a sigh.

Fortunately, atop the giant vine to the sky, there was also a massive golden bell.

  "Okay." Robin nodded.

They climbed onto the back of the Quetzalcoatlus again.

"Ya~" With a cry, the pterosaur beat its huge wings, and a roaring wind lifted them upward.

No one knew how tall the vine was. Its green trunk rose straight into the heavens like a pillar holding up the sky—immense and awe-inspiring.

The Quetzalcoatlus kept close to the vine as it flew upward. Gusts rushed past them as they pierced through massive clouds.

  Buzz.

After breaching a thick layer of clouds, they reached the very top of the vine.

Jiang Qize swept his gaze across the area and immediately spotted the dazzling, magnificent golden bell ahead. Special patterns were etched across its surface, steeped in a sense of ancient history.

Beneath the enormous bell, a huge Poneglyph stood silently.

"Wow, Captain… the bell is huge," Robin said in amazement.

"Yes. This bell is the promise the Shandia have been searching for all this time." Jiang Qize spoke softly.

For this promise, they had fought for four hundred years—just so the descendants could one day hear the sound of a distant bell.

Robin didn't fully understand what this "promise" between adults meant, but she still found it remarkable.

  "Robin, translate the Poneglyph."

  "Okay."

They walked toward the golden bell.

Standing before it, he finally grasped its true scale—over ten meters tall and more than three meters wide. Carvings across its surface depicted scenes that told their own story.

Jiang Qize studied it for a moment, then slowly raised his hand and drove a fist forward.

  Clang!!

A bright, thunderous note burst outward, echoing across the sky.

  Clang… clang… clang…

The reverberations rolled through the air again and again.

On Angel Island, everyone lifted their heads.

Upon hearing the sound, the chieftain's face was instantly streaked with tears.

  "Kalgara… we did it!"

"The light of Shandora is shining again. Descendants of kalgara—can you hear it?"

All the Shandia broke down in tears.

Four centuries—four full centuries of fighting. All to reclaim the Island of God, and to honor the promise between the great warrior Kalgara and his friend Mont Blanc nolando. Countless tribesmen had died for that vow.

Today, the beacon of Shandora—the light that once guided the sea—had been rekindled.

  Down below on Jaya Island—

The deep, ringing bell traveled through the clouds and into every listener's mind.

Everyone on Jaya tilted their heads upward, listening to this ancient bell as it washed over their hearts.

"Where is that ringing coming from…"

"Sounds like it's coming from the sky."

"No way. How could a bell ring down from the sky? Is it an illusion?"

"You idiot, everyone hears it. How could it be an illusion? Did you forget the Dragon Flame Pirates supposedly reached the sky island?"

"A sky island… could sky islands really exist?"

In Mock Town, people murmured in shock, unable to believe their ears.

In the back sea of Jaya, a modest-sized pirate ship floated on the water.

  "Pff—"

A man with a diamond-shaped face and an onion-like topknot burst up from the water.

"This is… the bell of Shandora…"

"Hahaha! My ancestor didn't lie—'the City of Gold' really existed… He didn't lie! He wasn't a fraud!"

Mont Blanc Cricket laughed uncontrollably as hot tears streamed down his face, but he paid them no mind at all.
