Screen 1 – Discovery of SCP-999 Stage Three
Researchers have confirmed the emergence of SCP-999 Stage Three.
The anomaly now manifests in a human teenage form.
SCP-999 Stage Three demonstrates master-level body manipulation, able to alter its physical structure at will.
Its emotional influence has intensified significantly. In its "happy state," SCP-999 Stage Three emits a positive affect field capable of spreading across four entire facility floors simultaneously.
This development has prompted immediate review by senior Foundation staff.
Screen 2 – Authorized Cross-Test Proposal
Following confirmation of SCP-999 Stage Three, the SCP Foundation approved a high-risk interaction test.
Authorization was granted for SCP-999 Stage Three to come into controlled contact with SCP-053.
The decision was made despite known dangers, based on SCP-999's advanced emotional regulation and the possibility that its influence could counteract SCP-053's aggression-inducing effect.
Senior staff acknowledged the risk explicitly. The test was approved not because success was expected, but because failure itself would provide critical data.
Screen 3 – Initial Contact
SCP-999 Stage Three verbally requested permission before approaching SCP-053.
"May I shake your hand?"
SCP-053 hesitated. The subject displayed visible fear and shyness before slowly extending her hand.
Physical contact was established.
No immediate hostile reaction occurred.
SCP-053 did not induce aggression, and SCP-999 Stage Three showed no signs of distress. Observers reported a brief silence across the containment chamber.
Moments later, SCP-053 exhibited signs of shock. Biometric readings indicated a sudden emotional response. A low-level affective wave was detected, originating from SCP-999 Stage Three.
The test was immediately placed under heightened observation.
Screen 4 – Verbal Exchange
SCP-053 looked up at SCP-999 Stage Three and spoke quietly.
"I hope I can see you again. You can… because you are my friend."
SCP-999 Stage Three responded calmly. "Yes. There is no issue."
After a pause, SCP-053 added, "You are my second friend. SCP-682 is my first."
No verbal response was given by SCP-999 Stage Three.
SCP-999 Stage Three disengaged from SCP-053 and began moving toward the exit of the containment room.
Before leaving, SCP-999 Stage Three stated:
"The lack of effect does not mean failure. It means I chose not to destroy this."
All personnel present reported a sudden drop in ambient emotional pressure following SCP-999's departure.
The test remained under review.
Screen 5 – Post-Test Statement
Following termination of the interaction, SCP-999 Stage Three provided a voluntary statement.
"I cannot remove the harmful influence of SCP-053," SCP-999 Stage Three stated.
"But in the future, I may be able to."
The statement was recorded without further elaboration.
Research staff noted the declaration and flagged it for long-term predictive concern, citing SCP-999's continued evolution and its implied awareness of future capability.
No additional testing was approved at this time.
