Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Reflection of the Confrontation

Silence returned, temporarily, to the castle after the encounter with the small creatures, yet it was a silence filled with awe, as if the stone walls themselves throbbed with the echo of what had transpired. Sultan sat on the ground, breathing lightly, his eyes sparkling with curiosity and confusion mixed with fear. It was no longer just a game or an exercise; he felt a true power flowing within him, a force whose limits he did not yet know, and whose consequences he feared.

Khalid sat beside him, his shadow coiling around his feet as if to protect him, yet also shielding himself from a strange feeling rising inside: a sense of strangeness, of danger, and a secret that weighed heavier on his heart with every encounter. He looked at Sultan and realized that the power accompanying his younger brother was not just a skill, but a spark beginning to shape their destiny together.

Sheikh Abdulrahman stepped forward, walking slowly, each step echoing through the long corridors. He looked at the children, his eyes filled with wisdom, but his voice only emerged after a long pause:

"You have succeeded, not only in controlling the elements… but in understanding what responsibility truly means… the fear you felt did not weaken you… it made you stronger."

Sultan lifted his head, feeling his hands, watching fire and water dance lightly around them, unable to believe what he had accomplished. He spoke in a childish yet sincere voice:

"I have never felt this before… I felt… that everything around me… listens to me… reacts to me."

Khalid whispered, his voice carrying awe and caution:

"And I… I felt the shadow… as if I could contain everything… but there is something inside me… I do not understand it yet."

Sheikh Abdulrahman smiled gently, placing his hand on each of their shoulders:

"This is natural… great power comes with fear, with responsibility, and with the realization that the world waits for no one… every experience you go through will temper your spirit, teaching you when to act and when to remain silent."

Though still infants, the children felt for the first time the reality of the world around them—how every movement, every feeling, every glow of inner energy could change what lay beyond them. Sultan was no longer just a child walking through the dusty streets of his village, and Khalid was no longer merely a shadow following his younger brother. They had become part of the fabric of life, part of the power awaiting them, part of the responsibility accompanying every step they would take.

From afar, Saqr, their father, breathed heavily, his heart wavering between pride and fear. He saw in his children's eyes the reflection of the entire world: terror, curiosity, courage, and their first victory.

Outside, through the castle windows, the sky seemed to watch itself—dark clouds pierced by faint streaks of light, as if calming after the storm, yet also hinting at what was to come. The Shift had not stopped, the larger creatures were waiting, and the prophecy was ready to continue its unfolding. Sultan and Khalid had only begun the first chapter of their true journey.

Sheikh Abdulrahman concluded the encounter with a calm yet weighty voice:

"Remember… what you have learned today is not merely power… it is the beginning of a test for yourselves, for your hearts, and for the bond between you… the road is long, and the destiny greater than any of us."

The two children sat together in silence, each processing what had occurred, each touching their inner essence, feeling for the first time that fear, pride, sorrow, and curiosity were all elements that would shape their shared destiny.
