Hiyori Town Farm – The Fields
"Sha~"
Gardevoir's psychic sword paused mid-swing. She tilted her head ever so slightly, ears pricked toward her Trainer.
Around her, the other Pokémon Girls had also slowed—pretending to work while listening intently.
Wade surveyed his attentive audience and began.
"With Leppa grain, we can make Grain Allure Dumplings, Jubilife Muffins, and Decisive Rice Dumplings."
Grain Allure Dumplings—a delicacy crafted from sticky mushrooms and Leppa grain. Soft texture. Fragrant aroma. Known to attract Pokémon from miles around.
Jubilife Muffins—small cakes originating from the ancient Hisui region. Their effect? Restoring a Pokémon's stamina.
Decisive Rice Dumplings—special grain dumplings wrapped in leaves. Soft, glutinous, and capable of inducing an enthusiastic state in Pokémon, powering up their favored moves.
"Meow~!"
Delcatty launched herself into her Trainer's arms. She rubbed against his chest with shameless enthusiasm, her amber eyes pleading.
Sweet dumplings! Glutinous rice dumplings! Delicious little cakes!
Her tongue swept across her lips. She could already taste them.
"Ugh... I'm going to drool~"
Wade glanced at her eager expression—then, uncharacteristically, looked away.
"Actually..." He cleared his throat. "I don't know how to make any of them."
"Meow?!"
Delcatty froze.
Around them, the other Pokémon Girls' hearts collectively shattered.
Wade's Pokémon knowledge was extensive—but traditional Hisui cuisine had somehow escaped his studies. Foods like Grain Allure Dumplings originated from Celestic Town thousands of years ago. Unlike ordinary dumplings or cakes, these special delicacies required exact ingredients. One wrong measurement?
Boom.
The recipes had been lost to time.
Modern Leppa grain preparation? Simple. Pokémon version of rice. Slightly restorative, moderately popular.
But the system clearly wants something more.
Wade eyed the quest description suspiciously.
Is it trying to turn my Pokémon Girls into rice immortals?
"Interesting~"
Cynthia's eyebrow arched. Surprise flickered across her features.
"So Junior Brother knows about those foods too?"
"Just from ancient texts." Wade stroked the teary-eyed Delcatty in his arms, keeping his voice calm. "Names only. No recipes."
A lie, technically. But "I played Pokémon Legends: Arceus in my past life" wasn't exactly explainable.
"Truly knowledgeable."
The blonde Champion studied him for a moment—then her expression softened. Her eyes curved into gentle crescents. Her serene face bloomed like a peach blossom.
"It's alright. Once we finish harvesting..." She paused dramatically. "I know how to make all of them."
"Eh?!"
Wade's turn to be stunned.
Cynthia's explanation clarified everything.
Celestic Town—Hisui's Celestic Town—was her hometown.
These traditional foods, passed down through generations, were part of her heritage. As both a native and a senior archaeologist, she was one of the few people in the Pokémon world who still knew the authentic methods.
"So leave it to your Senior Sister." She brushed a strand of golden hair from her eyes, smiling warmly. "I'll handle the cooking."
"Meow~!"
"Meow~!"
Delcatty raised both paws, barely containing her excitement.
Wade laughed, rubbing the greedy little Pokémon's head.
Problem solved.
The fields erupted into motivated chaos.
Mienshao unleashed Force Palm, sending rippling waves through the clustered Leppa grain. Rich, fragrant scents exploded into the air.
Cynthia's Garchomp joined in, Dragon Claw flashing as her agile form weaved through the crops. Harvesting at Champion speed.
With a chef secured, the real work begins.
Of course, not all the harvest would become a feast. A portion still needed to be sold—Yoshino would arrive soon for his daily collection.
Wade surveyed the mountains of Leppa grain and Gungun beans, mental calculations already running.
Twenty League coins per kilogram... this haul is worth over fifty thousand.
Solid income.
"Sar~"
Gardevoir's soft cry cut through his thoughts. Her psychic senses had detected something.
From the dense bushes beyond the farmland, shapes emerged. Dozens of them—Pokémon never before seen on the farm.
[Name: Houndoom]
[Type: Dark / Fire]
[Gender: Female]
[Level: 30]
[Ability: Flash Fire] – Absorbs Fire-type moves, strengthening her own Fire attacks.
[Moves]: Growl, Thunder Fang, Nasty Plot, Roar, Bite, Incinerate, Beat Up, Dark Pulse, Taunt, Sunny Day
[Egg Moves]: Feint, Sucker Punch
Houndoom.
The leader stood apart—Level 30, commanding presence. Her pack ranged in their twenties. Fierce appearances, sharp eyes, but their aura couldn't match the farm's trained Pokémon.
"Roo~!"
The Houndoom leader's long howl echoed across the fields. Her crimson pupils fixed on the Leppa grain with unmistakable longing.
They came for the harvest.
Wade wasn't surprised. Sturdy fences kept most wild Pokémon out, but determined intruders could always find a way. The law of the jungle didn't respect property lines.
"Sar~"
Gardevoir floated forward gracefully, her psychic translation carrying the Houndoom's challenge:
Winner takes all. Loser gets nothing.
Only the victorious had the right to feast.
Pokémon personalities varied endlessly. Unlike the fish-stealing Skitty from weeks ago—a mischievous opportunist—this Houndoom pack operated on pure wild instinct. Ownership meant nothing to them. Only strength.
They could feel the powerful aura radiating from Gardevoir and her companions. Yet instead of retreating, they raised their heads proudly, cold gazes unwavering.
Brave. Or foolish.
Wade stepped aside, gesturing to his team.
"Since that's the way they want it—everyone, let's go."
He studied the Houndoom leader—her proud stance, her commanding presence, her female form.
Perfect. They're all female.
Capture them. Train them. Make them the farm's patrol team.
Now that's a plan.
