"I mean… would Mona be okay with Uncle Dawson becoming your father? If you don't like the idea, Mommy and I will find a new place to live."
Victoria Vance's voice was still gentle as she patiently asked for Nathan Lynch's opinion.
Nathan Lynch looked up, stunned for a moment. He squeezed Victoria Vance's hand, his eyes welling with tears. "Mom, I just want you to be happy."
Victoria Vance was visibly moved. "Having you here already makes me the happiest mom in the world." She reached out and carefully wiped away Nathan Lynch's tears. "Why are you crying all of a sudden?"
"I don't know…" Tears streamed down Nathan Lynch's cheeks. He hung his head slightly, covering his face with his hands. "I don't want to cry, but I think it's because I'm too happy."
He walked over and hugged Victoria Vance, wrapping his small arms around her neck. "Mom, if you like Uncle Dawson, you should be with him. I like him a lot, too. He's a really nice person."
