Nathan Lynch, with a black cartoon backpack slung over his shoulders, stood out in the crowd with his fair skin and handsome features. Seemingly unfamiliar with his new school, he kept his head slightly bowed and remained silent, completely out of sync with the noisy bustle around him.
"Why is Nathan Lynch so quiet? My mom says kids who don't talk are mute."
"Why did Nathan Lynch transfer to our class? He's so quiet. I asked him how old he was, and he wouldn't even tell me."
"Everyone, stay away from Nathan Lynch. I heard he likes to hit people."

Nathan Lynch ignored the chattering around him and walked up to his teacher to say his goodbyes. "Bye, teacher."
The teacher stopped him. "Nathan, are your parents here yet?"
Nathan Lynch nodded. "My family's driver is here to pick me up. He's just up ahead."
The teacher glanced over and, sure enough, spotted the familiar figure of the driver. Only then did she relax. "Be safe on your way home."
