The fruit wine Chun Mian brewed was somewhat similar to the grape wines of later generations, but fundamentally different.
Wild grapes tasted tart and astringent, usually producing wine of mediocre quality. However, Chun Mian had made several adjustments during the brewing process and added some warming, nourishing herbs to blend the flavors. Now, the wine tasted sweet with a lingering aftertaste, and its texture was relatively smooth, completely lacking any harshness.
Of course, minors like Wei Shuxiang and Wei Qilu had to stick to drinking water—with a little sugar added at most.
Wei Shuxiang harbored deep grievances about this. "I'm all grown up now, I can drink too," she muttered, looking rather displeased.
