Everyone else had left, leaving Lu Sangjiu's Flying Sword hovering in midair.
She and Ah Ming sat sideways on the body of the sword, their legs dangling and swaying gently. It was a rather leisurely and comfortable scene.
Ah Ming didn't turn his head to look at Lu Sangjiu. After a moment of silence, he suddenly said, "I know you sent me away on purpose just now."
Lu Sangjiu made no attempt to argue. She simply hummed in agreement and said with complete frankness, "I was afraid you'd be upset if you heard what they were saying."
Ah Ming seemed to find this amusing, letting out a soft scoff. "Upset? If we're talking about being upset, I've had plenty of that on this journey already."
He lifted his head to gaze forward, his eyes calm but with a storm raging within. "Ms. Ajiu, tell me, we're all the same kind of people, so why do they treat us as less than human just because our cultivation systems are different?"
