Cecilia Adler gave the child a few more words of instruction, then led her to the front courtyard.
Mrs. Quincy's gaze landed on the child. "Is this the outfit you had Aunt Moss find someone to make?"
"Yes, is it nice?" Cecilia was rather concerned about her mother-in-law's opinion of the clothes.
"It's not bad. Very stylish. In a couple of days, your husband's great-aunt's granddaughter is having her tenth birthday. I was planning to give her two outfits as a gift. Let me borrow this one later, and I'll find a tailor to make two copies of the design."
"Why bother with a tailor? We have fabric right here at home, and I have more designs than just this one. I've got some free time lately, so I can make them for you." Cecilia proactively took on the task, inviting her mother-in-law inside to pick out a style. Once Mrs. Quincy agreed, she followed Cecilia into a room in the back courtyard. Cecilia gestured to a clothing rack against the wall. "Here they are."
