His son was sensitive, and any noise at night would affect his sleep and mood. But lately, his son's emotional state had been very stable.

Claire Jocelyn answered earnestly, "Inside a house."
Mr. Quincy: "...A house where? Is it big? What's around it?"
Claire Jocelyn didn't understand why Mr. Quincy was asking her these things. "Isn't Daddy your son? How come you don't know where he lives? Are you his real father? My daddy isn't like that; he always knows where I am. You don't care enough about Daddy. I'll tell you. We live in a very small room, and what's around us is a bed and a desk."
