He pushed open the door to find guards standing sentry outside. Seeing Adam Sinclair emerge so late, one of them looked surprised. "Prince Adam, are you heading out?"
"I'm going for a smoke. You two should head inside and take a break. It must be tiring just standing there." Adam Sinclair glanced at the two guards, held the door open, and pointed to the sofa inside. "There's fruit on the table. Help yourselves."
"Yes, sir." The two guards couldn't very well refuse, so they entered the room together. The door was wide open, after all. If anything happened to Prince Adam, they could rush out in an instant.
Adam Sinclair feigned patting his pockets, then slid a hand into his pants to pull out a pack of cigarettes as he walked toward the end of the corridor.
Around the corner, just as he'd expected, was room V6.
With the guards inside his room, the corridor was now empty. He pulled the key card from his other pocket, swiped it over the lock, and with a soft BEEP, the door opened.
