Oh my god!
She shot upright, startled.
'How could there be someone else in my room?'
Yanking the blanket over herself, she glanced at the person beside her and froze, completely bewildered.
'When did he get into bed next to me?'
"You... H-How did you end up in my bed?" Joan Shaw asked in alarm.
Miles Xavier lazily opened his eyes. The usual ferocity was gone, replaced by a hint of a smile.
"Your bed? Open your eyes and take a good look. Whose room is this, exactly?"
"Of course it's..." Joan clutched the blanket tighter and looked around.
This definitely wasn't her room.
She suddenly remembered working herself to the bone at his house all day yesterday. Eventually, she'd gotten so exhausted that she had fallen asleep leaning against the railing.
"What did you do to me?" she shrieked in horror. But she forgot that the room was exceptionally soundproof; she could scream her lungs out and no one would hear.
