Chapter 2 - First Avatar

"Another good one," Mikhail mumbled as he looked at the three abilities he had gained.

"System, I'll also get them, right?" he asked.

[Yes. Any ability obtained by the Avatar can also be shared with the Host.]

Mikhail nodded slowly, but then he sighed.

"Still… I can only choose one."

He leaned back against the wall and carefully looked at the three abilities again.

"The first one is mainly for physical compatibility with cyberware," he muttered. "The second one is purely for netrunning skills… hacking and digital combat."

His eyes moved to the last one.

"And the third one…"

He scratched his head.

"It's basically a hybrid of the first two. It improves cyberware compatibility and lets the body adapt to upgrades over time."

Mikhail let out another sigh.

"But that's also the problem."

He glanced around his tiny apartment.

"I'm living in the Marvel Universe right now. There's no cyberware here for me to install."

He tapped the screen where the third ability was displayed.

"So even though the third one is technically the best… I can't really use it here."

For a moment, he stayed silent, thinking carefully.

"System, if my Avatar gets cyberware… will I get it too? And how?" Mikhail asked, clearly confused about that point.

The blue screen flickered.

[Host will also receive an innate ability based on the world the Avatar has entered.]

[For this world, the Host will gain the Techno Cells ability.]

[This allows the Host's cells to temporarily transform into technological components.]

[However, the transformation will be limited to the level and types of technology obtained by the Avatar.]

Mikhail blinked in surprise.

"…Wait."

"So if my Avatar installs cyberware… my body can replicate it using these techno cells?"

[Correct.]

A wide grin slowly appeared on his face.

"Nice."

"Well then… the choice is obvious."

He tapped the screen confidently.

"I'll take the third ability."

With this ability, his Avatar in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 could install cyberware and grow stronger… while Mikhail himself, living in the Marvel Universe, could replicate that technology through his own transforming cells.

"Yeah," he said with satisfaction.

"This one is perfect."

The system screen flickered again.

[Avatar Creation in Progress.]

[Estimated Time Remaining: 24 Hours.]

Mikhail frowned slightly.

"Twenty-four hours?"

Another message appeared.

[During this time, the Avatar body will be prepared and integrated into the selected world.]

[Once the process is complete, the Host will be able to connect with the Avatar's senses and consciousness.]

Mikhail nodded slowly.

"So I'll basically be able to see and experience everything my Avatar does?"

[Correct.]

"Nice."

The screen displayed one more line.

[Host may continue living normally in the primary world while the Avatar develops in the secondary world.]

Mikhail leaned back against the wall, folding his arms.

"Alright… twenty-four hours then."

He glanced around the tiny apartment again.

The cracked walls.

The cheap furniture.

The small, cramped space.

"…Yeah," he sighed. "First thing I need to do is fix my living situation."

After all, he was currently living in the world of the Marvel Universe.

A world where aliens invaded cities, super soldiers fought in the streets, and gods occasionally dropped out of the sky.

"Living in a place like this in a world like that…" he muttered.

"…is basically asking to die."

Mikhail walked back toward the bed and sat down, thinking.

"System," he said after a moment. "Besides Avatars, what else can you do?"

The blue screen appeared again.

[The Supreme Traveler System has multiple functions.]

[Functions currently unlocked:]

• Avatar Creation

• Ability Synchronization

• Dimension Points

• Dimension Shop

Mikhail leaned forward slightly when he saw the last two.

"Dimension Points?" he asked. "What are those?"

The system responded immediately.

[Dimension Points, also known as DP, are rewards obtained when the Host's Avatar performs significant actions in other worlds.]

[These actions may include achievements, discoveries, combat victories, technological progress, or major story impacts.]

Mikhail rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"So basically… if my Avatar does something important, I get points?"

[Correct.]

Another screen appeared in front of him.

[Dimension Points can be used in the Dimension Shop.]

[The Dimension Shop contains items, abilities, technologies, and knowledge from various worlds.]

Mikhail's eyes widened slightly.

"…Anything?"

[Anything the System has recorded across dimensions.]

He leaned back slowly on the bed.

"Now that's something I can definitely use here," Mikhail mumbled as he opened the shop to see what it contained. For now, the shop only displayed items and technologies from the Marvel Universe and Cyberpunk 2077.

The system added another message.

[Host can also purchase items for his Avatars.]

Mikhail nodded thoughtfully before asking another question.

"So when can I create my next Avatar?"

The screen flickered again.

[Creating additional Avatars requires Dimension Points.]

[The Host can create the next Avatar after one year.]

Mikhail raised an eyebrow.

"One year, huh?"

But the system wasn't finished yet.

[Each new Avatar will require double the previous cost.]

[Both the required Dimension Points and the waiting time will double.]

Mikhail frowned slightly.

"Meaning…?"

[The second Avatar requires double the DP and a waiting time of two years.]

[The third Avatar will require double DP and time again, resulting in four years.]

[The pattern continues for each additional Avatar.]

Mikhail slowly nodded as he processed the information.

"So basically… the more Avatars I want, the harder it gets."

[Correct.]

He sighed but then shrugged.

"Well, fair enough."

After all, even one Avatar in another world was already a ridiculous advantage.

"Okay then, until it's done, I need to work on my own life here," Mikhail mumbled as he looked around the dirty apartment.

The cracked walls, dusty floor, and worn-out furniture made him sigh.

"Yeah… this place definitely needs to change."

He then closed his eyes and went through the memories in his head—more specifically, the memories of this body's previous life—to see what he could do next.

Minutes passed.

Mikhail slowly sorted through everything: school memories, part-time jobs, random daily routines, and countless moments of struggling just to get by.

But the more he looked through them, the deeper his frown became.
