Chapter 107 - Chapter 107: Edge Fully Revealed

In the eastern reaches of the Land of Wind, the scorching sun beat down mercilessly upon two distinctly different battlefields, each representing a critical node in Sunagakure's survival. If the village was a system under siege, then the East Line and the South Line were the primary firewalls that stood between the Hidden Mist's "Malware" and the nation's core directory.

East Line: The Edge of the Desert.

The environment here was a furnace of dry heat and shifting silt. The land force of the Hidden Mist, led by the Byakugan-user Ao, had attempted a high-speed "Backdoor Entry," but they had encountered a thermal barrier that ignored their stealth scripts.

"Scorch Release: Extreme Steaming Murder!"

Pakura's voice was as cold as the void between stars. Several enormous, orange-red fireballs manifested around her, orbiting her like lethal planets. They didn't burn with traditional combustion; instead, they emitted a high-frequency infrared radiation that warped the very air.

The fireballs crashed into the Hidden Mist vanguard. The screams of the invaders were short-lived, cut off by the physics of the technique. The ninjas touched by the orbs didn't experience the "Sizzle" of burning; they underwent an instantaneous phase-shift of their internal fluids. The Scorch Release forced every molecule of cellular moisture to evaporate in a microsecond.

The results were horrifying: elite Mist ninjas were transformed into dehydrated, mummified husks before their bodies even hit the sand. As they collapsed, their brittle remains shattered like sun-baked clay. This wasn't just killing; it was a "Data Erasure" of the biological self.

Ao, watching through his Byakugan from the rear, saw the thermal spikes on his "Sensor HUD" redlining. He could see the heat-haze Pakura generated was scrambling his vision, creating a "Visual Noise" that made precise targeting impossible. Pakura stood at the front of the Suna formation, a desert goddess of drought, her sharp eyes pinning the Mist ground forces to the edge of the dunes. The momentum of the invasion had hit a "Thermal Lock."

South Line: Along the East Sea Bay Coast.

While the East Line was a hell of dry heat, the South Line was a chaotic clash of salt, water, and cold iron.

Boom!!

A tremendous sound, followed by the grating screech of high-tensile metal being deformed, echoed across the beach. A large figure was launched backward with the velocity of a kinetic projectile, slamming into a cluster of offshore reefs. The impact shattered the ancient stone and sent a massive plume of seawater into the air.

Munashi Jinpachi, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the wielder of the Explosive Blade: Foam, struggled to rise. He stared in disbelief at the deep, concave dent in the side of his explosive greatsword, a piece of "God-Tier Hardware" that should have been indestructible. His hands were mangled, the webbing between his fingers split and leaking dark blood.

The entity that had sent him flying stood firm on the white sands. It was a silver-grey giant, nearly ten meters tall, its streamlined chassis reflecting the sun with a lethal, metallic luster.

This was the Mirage v.2.0.

Sayo had abandoned the "Walker" and "Shuttle" concepts of his earlier versions. Inspired by the "Gundam" dreams of his previous life as Logan, he had constructed a humanoid combat platform. The joints flashed with the steady, blue light of high-bandwidth chakra conduction, and the entire chassis hovered exactly ten centimeters above the ground, held aloft by a Mag-Lev field that hummed with the resonance of a Natural Energy reactor.

The most shocking feature, however, was the control interface. Sayo was not hidden inside a cockpit or standing at a safe distance with a scroll. He stood quietly atop the Mirage's broad right shoulder armor, his black hair whipping in the sea breeze.

From the major acupuncture nodes at the base of his neck, more than ten "Neural Chakra Threads" extended. They weren't physical strings; they were high-density conduits of energy that shimmered with a pale blue light, plugging directly into the Mirage's primary processing bus.

This was the Direct Neural Interface (DNI).

By linking the machine directly to his nervous system, Sayo had achieved "Zero-Latency" control. He didn't move his fingers to move the puppet; he was the puppet. Every thought was a command; every reflex was a kinetic action. This left his hands completely free, a "Multitasking Exploit" that the Ninja World had never seen.

Four of the Seven Swordsmen roared, charging forward to avenge their fallen comrade. Sayo's expression remained as calm as a steady-state signal.

His right hand flashed through a single, high-speed seal.

"Magnet Release: Iron Sand Drizzle!"

The black sand of the beach, rich in iron minerals, was forcibly seized by Sayo's magnetic field. It transformed into thousands of sharp, high-density spikes that launched like a "Cloud-Burst" toward Tōka Yabaki, the wielder of the Blunt Blade: Helmet Splitter. The clatter of iron hitting iron was deafening. Yabaki swung his massive hammer to block, but the sheer volume of the iron sand "DDoS-ed" his defense, forcing him to retreat repeatedly as the black grains chewed through his armor.

Simultaneously, Sayo's left hand pressed downward.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Ball!"

A highly compressed sphere of vacuum-pressure condensed in front of his palm and fired with a supersonic shriek. It struck first, bypassing the iron sand storm to accurately blast toward Kuriarare Kushimaru, the wielder of the Longsword: Nuibari. Kushimaru, a high-speed agility-type, attempted a flicker-dodge, but the vacuum's area-of-effect was too wide. The reef behind him was reduced to gravel, and the resulting shrapnel acted like a secondary shuriken spray, drawing blood from the surrounding Mist units.

Through the DNI threads behind his neck, Sayo sent a subconscious command to the Mirage.

The giant's massive mechanical left arm lifted. The armor plating on the forearm slid back with a smooth, industrial hiss, revealing a series of high-pressure launch ports.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh--!

Countless senbon, coated in Chiyo's "Type-S" neurotoxin, rained down like a digital tempest. They covered the approach of Suikazan Fuguki (wielder of Samehada) and Biwa Jūzō (wielder of Kubikiribōchō).

The Greatsword Samehada attempted to "Absorb" the chakra in the needles, but Sayo had anticipated this "Hardware Feature." He had infused the needles with a "Natural Energy" frequency that the sword's living core found repulsive. Samehada hissed and shrank back, refusing to swallow the "Malware." Jūzō swung the Decapitating Sword in a wide arc to deflect the rain, the clang of steel echoing incessantly across the bay.

One person. One Puppet.

Sayo stood as the conductor of a lethal orchestra. The Mirage moved with a fluidity that mocked the clunky "Legacy" puppets of the past. It stepped across the beach, its Mag-Lev field leaving ripples in the wet sand, its enormous arms generating fierce winds that forced the Swordsmen to scatter like frightened files.

Every time the Swordsmen tried to coordinate a pincer-attack, Sayo would drop a high-level Ninjutsu, Wind or Magnet Release to interrupt their "Execution Script." He was holding four of the Mist's strongest units in a state of permanent "Lag," unable to advance an inch.

The Suna reinforcements, the "Remnant Unit" of Chunin and Genin watched the silver-grey giant with a sense of "System Awe." Their morale, which had been in a state of crash since Kikyō Mountain, was being restored in real-time. They saw Sayo not as a thirteen-year-old boy, but as the village's "Primary Defense Node." They moved in his wake, clearing the cornered Mist ninjas and solidifying the line.

Sayo stood atop the Mirage, his eyes reflecting the cold blue of the ocean. The DNI threads at his neck radiated a powerful, steady energy fluctuation, the Natural Energy core in his chest providing the "Uptime" he needed to sustain this level of output.

At this moment, the "Frail Brat" of the repair bay was a memory. The "Defeated Hero" of Kikyō was an outdated file.

On the shores of East Sea Bay, the "Architect of the Sands" had finally deployed his most powerful creation. Sayo's edge was fully revealed, and the Hidden Mist was about to realize that the desert was no longer a "Scavenging Zone", it was a "Deactivation Zone."

"The system is stable," Sayo whispered, his dark eyes locking onto the surviving Swordsmen. "Initializing Deletion Routine."
