Chapter 51 - truth or dare?

I didn't think it would've been this hard to ignore Ms. Duval. Her presence, her scent, and her eyes seemed to follow me everywhere I went.

During the hike I'd gotten to the edge of the cliff because I wanted to see if we were really over or she'd try to save me, even if it was for the last time.

Like the one time when I was younger and had been playing at the back of the house and my leg got caught in a trap. I'd yelled for my mother who was in the garden nearby, she'd ignored me. She couldn't be bothered about her child who was in pain.

It felt similar to how I felt at the moment. For a brief second I had thought about completely letting go, it wouldn't be so bad, no one would miss me.
