After leaving the Fanhuali community, Jiang Qin went straight home.

It was a three-bedroom apartment of one hundred and twenty square meters. The living room was on the left and the kitchen was on the right. This place held almost all of Jiang Qin's beautiful memories.

His mother, Yuan Youqin, wore an apron while cooking. The chopping board thudded loudly under her knife. It was clearly a meat dish, likely the kind with bones.

His father, Jiang Zhenghong, sat on the sofa reading a newspaper. He hummed "Clouds of My Hometown" while his slippers dangled from his toes.

Jiang Qin felt a wave of nostalgia as he felt the familiar warmth.

He had been a drifter for many years. He felt like a piece of rootless duckweed. His roots were here. Therefore, this was a home that no other place could replace. It was a strange feeling to see his parents so young again.

"I am back!" (Return to Base!).

Zhenghong squinted at him. "Is the exam over?"

Youqin poked her head out from the kitchen. "How was it? Are you confident?"

"One foot has already entered the gate of a top-tier university."

"You brat. Are you being serious?" Youqin looked at him with doubt.

Zhenghong smiled. "If he talks big, he probably has a plan. We will have a good drink tonight!"

Jiang Qin waved his hand and refused. "No, Dad. I have decided. I want to start a business during the summer vacation. I cannot waste any time."

"Start a business?"

"It means earning money."

Youqin thought for a moment. "Then wash the dishes after dinner. I will give you five yuan per bowl and ten yuan for the pot."

Jiang Qin sighed. 'I will not argue.'

"I can wash them. How about you give me three hundred yuan in total?"

Zhenghong looked up suddenly. "There is such a good deal? I will do it too!"

"Go away. Three hundred yuan is enough to buy a new set. I wash them every day and no one gives me three hundred. Go wash your hands and eat!"

"Sigh!" (Game Over!).

Jiang Qin mused as he washed his hands and sat down for dinner.

Before sleeping, Youqin walked out of the bedroom and handed him five hundred yuan. She knew high school graduation meant freedom. Gatherings and karaoke with classmates cost money. Her previous offer was just her being stubborn.

Jiang Qin felt a bit emotional looking at the five hundred yuan.

'No great entrepreneur starts with only five hundred yuan. But five hundred is better than nothing.'

"Ms. Yuan, you will be the mother of a Chairman in the future!"

"I am satisfied if you just become a General Manager. Oh, I asked your uncle today. You should go to Zhengfang Driving School in a few days."

"I will learn to drive later. I have urgent matters to attend to."

Jiang Qin took the money and returned to his bedroom. He opened his computer and found the QQ ID for Guo Zihang. He told him to meet at Center Street tomorrow morning.

Zihang asked what they were doing. Jiang Qin did not say. He only mentioned he had five hundred yuan.

"Awoo!" (Brother!).

The greedy Zihang howled through the screen.

After making the plan, Jiang Qin opened Baidu to check the news. He tried to remember key events regarding demolition, policy changes, stock market status, and market premiums. He needed to prepare for wealth.

But before the page loaded, his gaze stopped on his friend list.

Chu Siqi was pinned at the top of his chat list.

Jiang Qin moved the mouse and unpinned her. He locked his Qzone and changed his profile picture. Then he checked his personal signature. He felt embarrassed the moment he saw it.

[I love you, what does that have to do with you?]

'So cringe.'

Jiang Qin slapped his forehead and deleted it. He replaced it with a classic poem. Once he finished, he noticed Chu Siqi's icon turned from gray to colorful. Her icon started blinking.

[System Notification: New Message Received].

He clicked it and then closed it with indifference. She asked why he locked his space. She ordered him to open it so she could "visit" his profile.

'Visit? I have not heard that term in years.'

The next morning, the sky was clear and the wind was calm.

Jiang Qin rode his bike to the pedestrian street on Pingyang East Road. This was the most prosperous commercial street in Jizhou City. Before the market was renovated, it was a golden location for vendors. Competition was high and prices were low.

Zihang arrived sweating because he was thinking about the five hundred yuan.

"Brother! How are we spending the money? I have never been to a bar. Let us go!"

"Stop talking nonsense. See that uncle selling lunchboxes? Ask him the price."

Zihang turned pale. "Are we eating lunchboxes for lunch?"

Jiang Qin squinted. "Just go ask. I will not mistreat you."

"Oh."

Zihang walked over to check the prices. In 2008, prices were not high.

[Item Description — Standard Lunchbox]

— Shredded Potatoes: 2 Yuan

— Minced Meat: 3 Yuan

— Chicken Leg & Potatoes: 5 Yuan

— Chicken Leg & Fried Egg: 6 Yuan

Jiang Qin checked the time and threw two hundred yuan to the boss. He told him to just keep making them. Then he found two cardboard boxes and packed the food. He led Zihang to the street filled with internet cafes.

He pushed open the door of a cafe and handed a pack of Yuxi cigarettes to the manager. Then he started selling. The gamers who had been online all night were starving. They did not want to leave their seats.

'Lunchboxes are better than instant noodles.'

The 2-yuan boxes were sold for 4 yuan. The 6-yuan boxes were sold for 9 yuan. Everything sold out except for two chicken leg boxes.

They worked from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. They visited five internet cafes and raised the price twice. Zihang was exhausted. His sweat dripped constantly. Jiang Qin was also soaked. He sat on the curb to count the money.

[Transaction Results]

— Initial Capital: 200 Yuan

— Total Revenue: 378 Yuan

— Remaining Stock: 2 Chicken Leg Lunchboxes

He did this to test his logic. The logic was sound. He could earn money, but the profit margin was too thin.

Jiang Qin was not disappointed. 'What profit do I expect from two hundred yuan? It cannot be thousands.'

He had never done business before his rebirth. This was just to feel the sensation of earning money. However, it was a bit of a loss. He gave away five packs of cigarettes. That cost over one hundred yuan. They worked like dogs and only earned seventy-eight yuan in profit.

'But if the capital was larger, the returns would be better.'

Jiang Qin handed fifty yuan to Zihang. The boy stopped complaining immediately.

"Meeeh!" (Thanks, Brother!).

"Brother, are we doing this tomorrow?"

"No. I am exhausted. We only made seventy-eight yuan and I gave you fifty. The rest is only enough for a pack of cigarettes."

Jiang Qin grumbled while calculating his first pot of gold.

'Where can I find it? Protagonists in web novels always do big business. Why is it so hard for me? Maybe I should convince my parents to sell the house and buy Bitcoin.'

Suddenly, the lunchbox vendor approached them. He looked mysterious and offered a cigarette.

"How much did you make from those lunchboxes?"

Jiang Qin took the cigarette. "Four hundred and sixty."

Zihang was stunned. 'Was it not three hundred and seventy-eight?'

Jiang Qin remained calm. Zihang did not dare to speak and lowered his head.
