Nora's POV
The towel slips from my fingers as my stomach lurches violently. The burger and fries from earlier suddenly feel toxic inside me. I lunge toward the bathroom, barely reaching the toilet before everything comes rushing up. James drops the pregnancy test immediately, gathering my hair away from my face as I retch into the bowl.
"Morning sickness," he murmurs behind me. "That's what humans call this nausea during pregnancy, isn't it?"
"Yeah," I manage between heaves, another wave hitting me so hard that bile shoots through my nose. Every muscle in my body aches, and all I want is to collapse on this cold tile floor and sleep for half a day.
My body convulses again, producing nothing but bitter yellow liquid this time.
