Nora's POV
I stare at James's sleek car positioned directly in front of the entrance. "If something goes wrong with my spell, you can move quickly enough to get back inside before you combust, right?"
"I would smolder for several seconds before actually exploding into flames."
I arch an eyebrow and tilt my head to study James. He stands beside me, his imposing frame dwarfing mine completely. Despite being taller than most women, I feel petite next to him. James towers over most men too. Even when he was human, without supernatural abilities or enhanced strength, his presence alone commanded attention.
"That's not really answering what I asked."
"Yes, I can move quickly enough to make it."
"Perfect," I exhale with relief. "Because if you died, that would really be devastating."
"I would certainly hope so."
