Nora's POV
The scent of sizzling bacon pulls me from sleep, followed by the rich aroma of fresh coffee. My eyelids feel weighted down, as if I'd barely closed them moments ago. Groggily, I push myself upright and shove the blankets aside. The thought of facing another day at work makes me want to crawl back under the covers.
"Finally awake." James appears in the doorway, balancing a tray in his hands. "Fair warning - I can't guarantee any of this is edible." He approaches the bed and carefully sets the tray down beside me. The plate holds crispy bacon strips, fluffy scrambled eggs, and golden toast. Steam rises from a black coffee mug. "YouTube became my cooking instructor," he confesses, his mouth curving into a sheepish smile. "Everything looks right compared to the tutorial, but human food doesn't exactly smell appetizing to me."
