Nora's POV
"This doesn't make sense." I press my palms against my temples, trying to ease the throbbing headache that's been building all day.
"Take a break," James suggests, but his attempt to soothe me only makes my frustration worse.
"I can't just take a break," I fire back. The sun is disappearing behind the mountains, and it's been almost twelve hours since Brent's call woke us up with news of another victim. This time it happened in Paradise Valley. Fiona Neal vanished for just a few hours before anyone noticed she was gone. When she didn't show up for her shift at the hospital ICU, her coworkers started making calls.
A local farmer discovered her body in his field this morning, covered in morning frost and missing her heart.
"How does she fit with the others?" I slam my laptop shut and lean back in my chair, staring at the ceiling. "There has to be a connection somewhere."
