I squeeze my eyes shut, knowing what comes next will demand everything I have left. Fighting Chad head-on might work, but the price will be devastating. And even if I manage to win this round, more demons will come. They always do.
Emergency sirens wail somewhere in the distance. Those demons didn't just threaten Vivian Hill. They're here now, in my home, terrorizing everyone I care about. I won't let that happen. If they destroy this town and slaughter innocent people while I stand here doing nothing, I'll never forgive myself. Time is running out fast, and I can't see any other option to stop Chad. He's already dangerous enough right now. If he manages to possess my body and claim the throne, this won't just mean the end of Vivian Hill. The entire world will burn.
