A menacing growl echoes from the darkness ahead. James responds with his own threatening snarl, fangs gleaming as he charges forward. My hands move instinctively, conjuring a brilliant energy orb that floods the room with harsh light. Shadows dance wildly across the walls as the creature emerges mere feet away. This hellhound mirrors the others we've faced, yellow fangs dripping with crimson saliva.
"James, get down!" My voice cuts through the tension as I draw my hands together, feeding more power into the glowing sphere until it pulses with lethal intensity.
I hurl the energy ball with calculated precision, targeting the beast's shoulder rather than going for a killing blow. The impact is devastating, searing through flesh and muscle while the creature howls in agony.
