Chapter 21 - V2 Chapter 1:

For Neme or rather Nemesis, the execution of a god was but a trifling matter.

At first he thought the act of committing the most agrecious of sins would affect him in ways like the breaking of his soul, or the breakdown of his very personality seeing as how killing a real living being would be much different compared to the monsters that were nothing more than imaginary figments that simply vanished into nothingness.

Perhaps because normally speaking gods were of the same sort.

With their Arcanum unshackling the seals before flashing back up to the heavens was not much different from the monsters of the dungeon disappearing into ash before returning to their mothers embrace before she birthed them once more.

But the mentality of this line of thought would apply to this situation.

Neme was staring down at the corpse right now.

The divine blood of the former god Soma was leaking from his earthly body and seeping across the wooden floors of the brewing room.

But beyond the gruesome situation he found himself in, the reward for completing the task assigned to him was more than enough to keep his thoughts from dropping into utter despair.

However with a god slain, he should not linger, quickly he decided to take his leave.

Leave before the Gods of Orario could make sense of the situation, and before their hounds could arrive to chase after the culprit of the crime.

Choosing to leave behind the wealth of the Soma familia that remained locked away in the Famila vault, along with the liquid gold sitting in Soma's own brewing room.

Neme absconded.

Slipping through the halls, and grounds of the Familia mansion, before leaping over the wall, and running a path through the city, ensuring to doubleback and leave false trails along the way until he finally reached the slums.

It was here at his starting point that he switched out of his assassin clothes, before igniting them with a simple ignition stone.

Sporting his new clothes, he quickly moved on to a new location before pulling out a new potion bottle.

This one however bore no real potion instead it was a means to cover up his current abnormal state.

If he simply joined the miniscule traffic upon the late night streets of Orario, a Demihuman would easily be able to identify that he was the only one among them that had no scent.

The lingering effects of the potion he'd taken before to hide his tracks during the assassination, only now that very same potion could work against him exposing him as the culprit until it's effects wear off.

Only with the bottle now in hand, he could eliminate that were potion.

The contents were a concentration of his own natural odor.

Simply put it was a bottle bearing the collection of sweat accumulated after intense workout.

Misting this over his clothes would make him appear at least to any who bothered to check out his scent as one who had spend ample time in the dungeon or simply working hard, requiring a bath or at the very least a change of clothes and a wipe down with a damp cloth.

Seeing as how he was a bit more than a loner in this world being just a bit rank wouldn't matter to much to him for the remaining time it would take until the original potion wore off.

Still as he walked on the night streets, Neme could help but smirk internally about how on the surface everything was as it always was.

The streets had occasional patrols of the Ganesha familia, and the scattering of drunks pouring out from taverns heading for their own inns, homes, or familia grounds.

The only sign something was wrong was the increased glow coming from the familia houses themselves.

Torches were being lit enmass as the Gods and Goddesses awoke their followers.

For neme the trip back to his own inn was a short one.

Climbing the stairs and unlocking the door before taking a seat upon the bed.

It was only now, in his personal private space that he could finally let out the breath he was holding onto inside.

And using his provided power pulled up his status page to witness the change brought about by the completion of his goal to slay a god of Orario.

[Status]

Name: Nemesis (Neme)

Level: 1 [Level Up]

Endurance: EX 2000

Dexterity: EX 2000

Agility: EX 2000

Magic: B 750

Skill:

Magic:

Curses: 731:04:12

Unused Stat Points: 200

The after pouring over his status there were a couple of noted changes within the projection.

First off being that he had gained enough 'Excelia' or XP to perofrm a Level Up of himself to Level 2 if he so chose.

Greatly increasing his power in the process seeing as how the Power progression system of Orario worked on a system of compound. Such that at level one his accumulated stats would be S1 though at reaching Level 2 it would look more like S1+S2 Simply put it would mean each time his level increases the valuation of his stats would rise exponentially, and coupling that with the fact he was a limit breaker and one going to the extreme that his status could reach as well would further cause his power to explode beyond godly levels upon reaching level 10.

Only the option was a voluntary one, and with his magic stat still low as it was Neme was in no hurry to achieve a rank up at this time, perhaps in another day or two upon gaining the required stat points he needed to raise Magic into EX peak.

The second thing he noticed was the increase in the time imposed upon him by his 'Curse' factoring in that each day here also had 24 hours like on his old Earth, that meant his 'lifespan' had increased by a whole month.

Nothing much of course when you compare the average human lifespan to be 80 years, while Dwarves and Pallum saw 400 years, and elves closer to 1000 years as a lifespan.

To he who previously had less than half a day remaining before the end of his life, the increase was a true godsend.

And then finally the last abnormality on his status screen.

His unspent parameter points.

Before starting the operation to kill God Soma, he'd invested everything he had into all his stats, but now hours later he had 200 unspent points…

Did he get them as a reward for killing such a low ranking god on top of the increased lifespan?

No no no, beyond killing a god there was that one other thing… He had killed the Level 2 Adventurer Captain of the Soma Familia.

Thinking about it this way, the 200 points was basically the potential gain for killing humans at the 2nd level, nothing to out there honestly as show by Bell in the Anime he could explosively grow his stats at Level 2 by training and sparring daily with Ais who was a Level 5.

So as a Level 1 managing to take down a Level 2, the reward of 200 points made sense, perhaps the reward from the system for slaying level 2 monsters In the dungeon while he remained at level 1 would also show a growth result rather than the simple single point gains he was seeing advancing floor by floor.
