With the words and everything finalized.
Boro and Matilda started fighting as Lono gave the signal.
Due to the fact that they were both ordinary fighters, the fight itself was not interesting at the very least.
At least for NEN users and Conrad himself.
For nen users that are used to complex battles of nen and where the power and the events were more impactful, all actions taken are important to consider.
Ordinary battles did not have much meaning.
"Boring." Conrad murmured, his words heard by Nate and Elaine, who was close to him; they just smirked and said nothing.
As they felt the same too.
In no time, Boro was able to hit the head of the woman named Matilda, and then she passed out. After checking her status, assistants signaled to Lono, and Lono nodded.
"The first duel is over; Boro passes the second stage, and Matilda is eliminated from the exam."
The dueling stage kept on going.
Second, third, and fourth, most battles ended in quick succession without most of the events.
In just less than one hour, the first stage of the exam was over; Conrad beat up one of the weakest guys, which was to be expected, as everybody that could come forward would be weak for him, and he passed the second stage.
Lono looked at the remaining fifteen people and nodded as he started talking.
"This is the final stage; when this exam ends, the remaining people will be hunters."
Hearing the words of Lono, everybody got a little bit excited.
They dreamed of this day; most of them always wanted to be hunters, and now that they got so close to it.
The stress and excitement they felt were pretty heavy.
"I am going to do it," said one of the young men.
"I come to this stage, I am not going to lose," said Elicia, ex-military who took the captain position of the team that Conrad was in.
Not much time later, Lono and Nate prepared something on the whiteboard and then showed the board to the applicants.
It went from group 1 to 5, each group having three people.
Three examiners watched everything that happened in the first stage with great interest to understand who the weaker links are that are able to pass the first stage.
Then, they decide on two people that are the weakest among fifteen people and put them into the same group with Conrad.
Basically, they made sure that one of the weakest links would be eliminated. It was the harsh but only logical course of action.
If you are deemed weaker than the remaining fifteen people, then you will be eliminated by forcing yourself to fight against a powerful one. If you are strong among the fifteen people, then you will have a better chance to pass the exam.
Conrad looked at the chart and smiled.
"I am in Group Three, with the guys named Boro and Elicia."
Conrad already decided what he wanted to do; in the first battle, Boro won against the woman named Matilda, but he was barely able to win and did not show much potential.
Elicia was great in commanding and other matters, but she was the same; she did not perform well in her dueling. It was the fact that her opponent was a dumb individual so that she was able to take him on and pass the first stage.
"Still, if I want to make a decision..."
"I would say Elicia has much more potential to be a hunter than Boro."
"She deserves it more."
With these thoughts, the second stage of the exam started.
Group 1 started their exam, and just after a second later, two of the women formed a team against the guy, and then they started attacking him. In just two minutes, the guy was no longer able to fight against two women and then lost the battle, eliminated.
This meant that two women, namely, Laria and Anilia, passed the hunter exam and are now unofficial hunters.
Group 2 had the same kind of event, where two people again formed a team to take on one of them.
Two more people passed the exam too.
Then, Group 3 came to the stage; Conrad walked with a smirk while Elicia looked at him with some interest.
Her eyes clearly showed how much she wanted to work with him and did not want him as an enemy.
Elicia saw what Conrad was capable of in the cave; she knew for a fact that her combat capability and power of Boro were not nearly enough to take down Conrad at all.
The only chance she has to pass the exam is if she were to make a deal with Conrad.
Conrad looked at her and smiled as he said to Boro and Elicia.
"I am not going to fight."
"You two fight; whoever wins passes the exam."
Boro, hearing this, took a step back, and Elicia kept her face neutral while examiners smirked as they nodded.
Conrad then added.
"Of course, you can work as a team to attack me; I am okay with that too."
"But that would mean only 9 people will pass the exam when this last stage ends."
