While Adarte and the white-haired man kept on looking at each other.
"Before, fighting, my name is Laxon, young man..."
They had been standing still for about twenty seconds now.
"He would not have an ability that would need him to stand still?"
Adarte could not help thinking.
"Other than telling his name, he just kept on looking at me without attacking at all."
It would be unusual but not surprising to have such a condition.
He did not want to risk it, and then, taking deep breaths, he readied himself, and then he bolted to attack and test the waters.
The white-haired man smiled and dodged to the left.
He then whispered as he smiled.
"Spirit Arts – Martial Artist!"
With his whisper, the net amount on the white-haired man increased by a lot, and his demeanor and everything about him have changed.
He was already dangerous; now he felt like a one hundred-year-old master with a peak body build and ready to destroy his enemy.
"All of his basic stats, even aura amount and everything, have increased by at least 50%."
"His emotional activity and demeanor changed too."
"He whispered, 'Spirit Arts—Martial Arts,' if the word he used to activate his ability is true..."
"He should be in a mode of a martial artist and will fight like one, and also 'spirit' should suggest that he will also act like one."
Adarte was not wrong in what he deduced from just the name and what he heard.
The new ability of Laxon was one of the abilities in the Matilda Royal Guard Group that does not need any kind of a human sacrifice or anything morally wrong.
Laxon was just a man that was already dangerous without needing to use the sacrifice method to have a more powerful nen ability.
He was an enhancer, and after fulfilling conditions of his ability, he was able to change into three forms, and each of the three forms had different enhanced capabilities.
"For the "martial artist" mode of his Spirit Arts."
"He must tell the target who he decided to fight in his name."
"He must be attacked first and forced to defend himself, or if he did not get attacked, he must propose a death battle to the target, and the target needs to accept it."
"When using 'Martial Artist,' he must act and feel like a martial artist, cannot do dishonorable actions such as killing innocents or non-warriors, and could not be helped by friends while in combat."
"The form only will last about two hours, and two hours of extra time is needed for using the ability again."
The conditions were harsh.
But, with the talent of Laxon and with such harsh conditions, the ability was much more powerful.
Laxon then launched like lightning and appeared beside Adarte like a ghost, and with one side sick, he hit Adarte and launched him to a tree ten meters away.
"Booom!!"
Adarte coughed up blood as he hit the tree with powerful force.
"Fuck!"
"I have no chance to fight against this guy at all," he thought.
He felt the power and the force and understood the speed of the guy.
As a conjurer, his basic physical capabilities and nen volume were already weaker than this enemy's; now that the enemy is using some sort of a nen ability, it lets him increase his already powerful nen and basic physical capabilities.
Things are much worse than the start.
"Anisa, we need to switch!" he shouted.
Anisa, who was trying to find a way to handle the woman with the red stick now, heard the words of Adarte and nodded.
"Nah…"
"This woman looks at me with the eyes of a hungry wolf that would like me on a bed more than in an electric chair."
"She fights for real, but she is not targeting killing me at all."
Anisa understood the woman; she was some sort of maniac and sex addict of some sort.
This demeanor and character of hers caused her to attack herself with intent to catch her, not to kill her.
Basically, because she wanted to fuck Anisa, she did not want to kill her, which made Anisa not be able to fulfill the condition of getting attacked by the killing intent.
"Okay!"
Anisa shouted, and then with one and two exchanges, Adarte got up. Laxon followed him like a cheetah, and in a moment, both changed location, and then
Anisa stopped Laxon with her dagger, while Adarte stopped the woman, Lilis, with the metal bat.
As Laxon and Anisa exchanged blows, the energy around Laxon has changed.
If Laxon did not change a target after using his ability but was forced to change like this, his ability enters overriding mode, which affects his capabilities.
"Spirit Arts—Vengeful Martial Artist."
Laxon had too many events like this, where he fights an enemy, that enemy escapes, and her or his friend arrives to fight him.
After one and two fights like this, his ability kept shutting off and left him in a pretty bad state.
For this to not happen again, Laxon finally added a second chapter to The Martial Artist.
It was the Vengeful Martial Artist; in return for the enhanced amount of rage and condition to be filled from the enemy, he gains more power and speed.
But the tactical advantage and strategy levels of his mind go down due to anger.
Basically, his nen forces him to be anger-filled, which means that he fights without much of a thought.
"Good!!"
Anisa jumped for a moment and felt the anger and agony from the man.
This man definitely did want to kill her, and it was good for her.
"I never expected to be wanting to find enemies that would like to kill me."
Anisa thought, but she was happy anyway.
