Chapter 272 - Encounter With Hisoka Morrow - Chapter 272

After creating his new Nen ability, Conrad had also added a simple interface to it so that analyzing and tracking it would be easier.

The only condition he needed in order to add the interface was that he could only examine it once a week. That time restriction alone was a sufficient condition to create the interface.

Even though it was still only in its early stages, Conrad believed that this new ability would grant him a significant advantage and a great deal of power.

"Since I gain the accumulated Nen, the Black Ring Individuals within the ability should also gain happiness, slight recovery, and an increase in strength..."

While the happiness and recovery effects were generally permanent, the increase in strength was not very lasting. For it to become permanent, far heavier Nen conditions would have been required.

The next morning, the first thing Conrad did was go to an internet café. The reason he chose an internet café was because he wanted to use the Hunter Website to gather more information about the Quarmir Family.

In truth, he could have used the computer in his hotel room as well. However, even though he trusted his own strength, he did not want his room to be traced or his identity exposed after the Quarmir Family was destroyed, if it could be avoided. He had no desire to deal with people like the assassin sent by the Matilda Kingdom.

"Yes..." Conrad began reading the information on the computer. Afterwards, by paying ten million to Jenny, he was pulled into the Hunter Website through Nen, and the bartender began providing him with general information.

Ten minutes later, Conrad left the internet café and sat down in a regular café. In his hands were several notes he had taken.

"In general... the gathered information is the same as what our people found. The two extra important details are that the Quarmir Family has assigned three Nen users to themselves, and these Nen users are relatively new users..."

"The Hunter Website truly operates as an unmatched organization when it comes to gathering this kind of information."

By making a payment, learning how many Nen users existed within a Mafia family and how experienced they were was an incredibly interesting and useful source of information. Especially when those Nen users were not Hunters, gathering and preparing such information was far from easy.

"The research shows that the Quarmir Family has absolutely no chance of resisting me."

Even though Conrad was not fully aware of the extent of his own strength, his current level of power was already enough to place him comfortably among the top twenty Nen users alive. If the ranking were based purely on Nen knowledge, he could easily enter the top ten.

Conrad had understood a little more about his true power when he fought against Biscuit. While sparring with her, he realized that although he was significantly weaker than Biscuit in raw physical strength, once speed, Nen mastery, and most importantly, his ability to use multiple Nen abilities at once entered the equation, the difference between them became extremely clear.

Winning in a direct confrontation against Biscuit might have been difficult. However, if he actively used every one of his Nen abilities in battle, Biscuit would eventually lose. In a real fight, it would not have been surprising if Conrad emerged victorious in nine out of ten battles.

After continuing to sit in the café for a while longer, a sudden feeling of discomfort filled him. The sensation was strange, but not unfamiliar.

"Hmmm... I'm being targeted," he thought.

Within a single second, he turned his head to the right and focused on a car hidden within a back alley. The distance between them was at least one hundred and fifty meters.

"Hisoka!"

The moment Conrad realized who was watching him, he sharpened his focus.

"Hehehe... Truly... magnificent..."

"It's been a very long time since I met someone who could notice me from such a distance while I was completely calm."

A few seconds later, with swift steps and fluid movement, Hisoka appeared directly in front of Conrad.

Conrad looked at Hisoka but did not even rise from his seat. He had no fear of being killed by Hisoka where he currently sat. If a major battle broke out, he was aware that, at worst, he could escape.

"You must be... Conrad..." Hisoka said.

"I didn't know about your fights in Heavens Arena beforehand... And during the Hunter Exam, I didn't recognize you."

"But judging from your eyes, you know who I am... in fact, you know me quite well..." he said with a grin on his face.

Conrad smiled.

"In general, it's impossible not to know a powerful Nen user like you. At the same time, I heard your name back in Heavens Arena."

"May I ask why you came to me?" Conrad asked, even though he already knew the answer inside.

Hisoka nodded and pointed toward the chair.

"May I sit?"

Conrad nodded and allowed him to sit down.

After sitting, Hisoka began speaking.

"I'm someone who searches for strong opponents... You fit that goal perfectly. Is there any problem with me wanting to fight you? I'm not talking about sparring..."

Conrad took a deep breath.

"As expected..." Conrad thought to himself, though at the same time he also felt somewhat happy. Even though he no longer possessed the Black Ring—State Of Calm ability, he felt no fear or anxiety whatsoever in front of someone like Hisoka.

"It can happen, but not right now."

"If you're truly the kind of person you claim to be, then I'm sure there are many people on your target list. Why not leave me for the very end, as a sweet dessert?"

The moment Conrad finished speaking, a tremendous amount of Nen began gathering around him.

Hisoka's eyes widened as though someone had physically forced them open, and the grin on his face vanished, replaced by cold shock.

"This... is interesting," Hisoka said as he stood up from the chair and lightly smiled while looking at Conrad.

"If you couldn't back up those words, things would have been different. But the power you possess... gives reason to your confidence."

"Then let it be as you said..."
