Alice and CJ looked at the black-armored knight as it stepped down and began to speak. "Hello there. So you are the insects that have entered this Fall Arena. I was summoned here by the system, and I have one purpose to kill you all." The knight drew its sword from its sheath. The sword crackled with black lightning. The knight began to charge at Alice. "You look like a strong one," said the knight. Boom. The sword struck the ground where Alice was, but Alice's reflexes were fast enough. She dodged the attack, leaping into the air. She activated her sword as well from her chest and was ready to fight. The clash of metal rang out. Swap after swap. The knight seems to be fast at dodging. Not even a single hit landed, Alice said to herself. The knight clenched its fist and punched Alice straight in the stomach. A black flash of light shone. Alice bounced through 3 buildings, leaving craters, and landed straight into a car. "Alice!" CJ shouted. The knight turned and said, "Not so fast, because you're next." The knight swept his sword at CJ's neck, trying to cut it off. But CJ, using his aura hands, formed a barrier around his neck, preventing the decapitation. CJ now uses his aura hands to try and hold the knight in place, but the knight was stronger than him. It broke free, launched straight at him, and punched him straight in the mouth, then lifted him up. The knight, in black armor glowing with black lightning energy, was almost 8 meters tall. CJ, only being 6 feet, was lifted up off his feet. The knight spoke. "Well, you guys are not as strong as I thought. What can I expect? Two insects can't beat a boss like me." CJ thought in his mind, struggling to come out of its clutches. So this thing is the boss. Alice, using her strength and speed.force equals mass times acceleration, Alice said to herself punched the knight in the legs. Its legs shifted slightly. "So you can hit me? But how are you supposed to kill me?" the knight said mockingly. CJ, breaking free from the knight's grip in that same moment, formed aura hands and grabbed the knight's arm. He dropped to the ground and tried to squeeze the knight with his aura hands. But the knight was too strong. It blocked his attacks and punched him with a black flash of light. CJ went flying to the ground. CJ was now dizzy, and he fainted. Alice, now on her own, stared at the knight. The knight prepared to charge again. "Time to level up," Alice said to herself.Alice was charging towards the knight. The knight raised its sword again, crackling with black lightning. It slammed it down on the ground with great force towards Alice. A huge crater formed, breaking the ground apart. A deep chasm opened up. Alice was about to fall into the big ditch, but using her sword she stabbed the wall and managed to climb up again. Now running on the other side of the road with a huge crater in between, she looked back at CJ. Thankfully, the crater did not reach him.
Alice started charging towards the knight again. She leaped into the air, but wasn't fast enough. The knight punched her on the side and she went flying straight into a building. Alice was hurt, coughing up blood. The system popped up in front of her. "3 ribs broken. Better fix that. You could buy 1 regeneration bottle for 150 Spades. Or you could level up to Level 2 and get full health regeneration using your entire 300 Spades savings. But remember, leveling up can either be done by clearing as many levels as you can, or obtaining as much experience as possible by defeating level monsters or bosses. But since this is a new game, you get to buy level ups. Leveling up is more expensive than getting it through experience, but this is your lucky chance. You have a promotion," said the system.
"I'll level up," Alice said with pain in her voice. Then light engulfed her body. Alice was now moving like she knew what she was doing. Flash step. Flash step. Flash step. She moved so fast that the knight couldn't make sense of it. She became faster. But the knight noticed she was fast, but still not fast enough. The knight could see all her moves, watching her shift from place to place. "You have to do better than that. Now let's see how you run," the knight said. It punched her once more, but this time, she took less damage and did not get thrown into a building. She recovered quickly, jumped up, and successfully stabbed the knight in the chest. The knight was surprised, almost scared. But the knight was strong. It glowed with black light and threw Alice straight into a building once more.
CJ, now conscious and cautious, woke up. Using his aura hands, he took advantage of the moment the knight was distracted and held its leg while punching it in the face. The knight fell and was knocked back. Meanwhile, Alice got up again, jumped onto the knight, and kept stabbing it continuously. The knight struggled. "What are these insects? Why does this one seem to have gotten stronger than before? And that other one with those aura hands... This looks like some type of green aura substance. This one keeps on stabbing me continuously. I need to be more serious."
The knight's eyes turned from glowing white to glowing red. Then the sky became black, and the fallen city fell quiet. The knight began to glow, pushed Alice and CJ out of the way, breaking through CJ's aura hands, and stood up straight. This time it gave off a different type of presence. It was almost terrifying. Alice thought to herself, "This presence... it doesn't feel nice. It's terrifying."
