As the event was in full swing, the Block B sector was filled with crowds of visitors, volunteers, and interested students going around the various stalls and looking at the variety of products being sold.
Li Heng was at the back of the engineering club stall alongside other volunteers, barbecuing roasted meat on multiple grills.
Li Heng and a few other volunteers were managing the grills while a few others focused on drinks, serving and other tasks. Of course, Cheng Xi was a few people away from him, not looking at Li Heng. When he arrived at the stall, Cheng Xi neither greeted nor said anything to him. Instead, he only glared at him before moving on—abnormal, even unsettling.
Just as his attention was focused on his thoughts, a voice interrupted him from behind and he turned to see who is it
Chairman: "Hello there, everyone. Glad to see everyone is working hard" a female voice spoke
Li Heng knew who she was, the chairman of the engineering club- Liu Yu Ting. Not the most beautiful, but she stood her ground—talented and resourceful in her leadership.
Yu Ting: "Hey, Li Heng!…And Cheng Xi…"
Li Heng looked at her, slightly shocked while Cheng Xi fully averted his gaze while his expression turned fearful
Li Heng: "Hey…Chairman" Li Heng awkwardly greets her and Yu Ting greets him back
Yu Ting: "Everyone, let's do our best!" She announced and the whole team morale increased just from her words
By 11am, the crowds were increasingly in numbers as more elderly people began visiting in curiosity after their walks nearby. The principal is happy with the results of the increasingly numbers of visitors, the volunteers however are in constant exhaustion and busy as the orders keep approaching
Male Volunteer: "1 skewers with sausages and ham!"
Male Volunteer: "5 barbecue skewers with beef for the old lady!"
Li Heng and the other volunteers were focused on getting the list done that they were exhausted under the hot sun and the smoke from the grills however they continued pushing on
(Luckily we don't have anymore things happening-) As he monologue, an elderly lady walked up to the stall and threw the plate of the 5 barbecue skewers onto the ground
Elderly lady: "Are you kidding me?! Where is it so hot?! Are you trying to hurt me?!" She shouted which attracted attentions from other people
Female volunteer: "Ma'am, it is a skewer, it's supposed to be hot-" She panickily said however the elderly lady smacked her with an umbrella onto her head which immediately caused several volunteers stood in front of her
Male Volunteer 1: "Are you crazy? What are you doing?!" He shouted at the elderly lady who was preparing to leave
Li Heng also slightly got up, hesitated about his actions and outcomes when Yu Ting walked calmly in front of the elderly lady and blocked her path
Yu Ting: "Stop, you haven't apologized yet"
Elderly lady: "What?! I have the right to do that!"
Yu Ting: "We already have people that saw you hit my member and your actions would be brought to the guards unless you apologized to her"
The elderly lady tried to bargain but Yu Ting had a weird unspeakable sense of heavy tense feeling from her eyes that a normal student should have. The elderly lady backed off and left quickly scared
Yu Ting: "You okay?" She said to the female volunteer who nodded
(What an odd feeling…) Li Heng thought to himself before someone shouted
Male Volunteer 3: "Hey, we need more meat to refill our stocks!" He shouted while checking the stocks at a small freezer
Yu Ting looked around and lay her eyes on Li Heng and Cheng Xi
Yu Ting: " Li Heng, Cheng Xi. You two, go to the storage room at B104 and make it 'quick'." She said while Cheng Xi face began to pale after hearing that
Li Heng: "You okay, Cheng Xi?"
Cheng Xi: "Yeah-Yeah. I'm fine…" He panicky said as the two of them began heading to the storage room
(What's this weird feeling…) Li Heng thought to himself as Yu Ting looked at him coldly with no empathy in her eyes
